The 2016 NBA Finals Part 2

So LeBitch got what he wanted and the Cavs forced a game 6. They better enjoy it now while it lasts. I'm very pissed that GSW seemingly just gave up in the 2nd half. I didn't even recognize them at all. Urgh. confused

Inside the game without all the nonsense. LeBron responded like he needed to but more importantly

Kyrie Irving done what people were waiting to see if he can respond in the clutch on the big stage.

He has responded with good play after he was M.I.A the first 2 games. I was beginning to wonder

if he was gonna be another Deron Williams. The Warriors shooters were red hot the first 2 and a half qtrs but they disappeared late in the 3rd and the 4th. Klay and Curry went cold. There will be a game 6. There was no foolishness about this game. Both teams went about it businesslike and there

wasn't any favortism from the refs. LeBron and Kyrie shots were falling in the final qtr and

Klay and Curry shots weren't. The Warriors didn't score but 1 point in what the final 6 minutes.

When did Steph ever get warm in the first place? He made some shots in the first half but I wouldn't say that he got on a roll like he normally does. Out of the two, Klay was the only one who showed up. Don't know what's been up with Steph, unless he's just exhausted and/or frustrated. Barnes absolutely sucked last night. He either has an absolutely great game or a completely shitty game and last night was very shitty for him. Iggy did the best he could with what he had to deal with. Barbosa was making silly fouls on Tristan Thompson. Sort of makes me wonder if GSW got lacksadaisical on purpose so that they could win the next game with Green. hmmm

It's played out just like I thought - if Golden State hits 3s, they win. If they don't, they lose.

Draymond Green deserved to be suspended a few games ago. He's as dirty a player as I've seen in a long time.

The question now is - can LeBron and/or the rest of the Cavs bait Green into doing something stupid? Based on what I've seen of Green, that shouldn't be too hard to do. But it's going to take Green throwing a punch at a head to get him suspended again. He probably can throw in one of his patented nuts shots and stay in the game.

You know, dudes that hit other dudes in the package during a contest are just flat-out pussies. No other way to put it.

LeBron might be a b***h but Green is a pussy.

This series is the Cavs for the taking now - if they are tough enough.

Fixed based on what? To extend the series to 7 games? To extend the series until Green is back? More $$$?

I don't buy the fix conspiracy the way Irving and LeBron were shooting last night. If the game were close and it was a questionable call at the end I could see a point. Even when the Warriors won there was no fix. Hell the only game in this series that was even remotely close was game

4 during the LeBron/Draymond meltdown.

Yep. Every sport is a mind game as much as it is a physical game. I STILL hear Magic Johnson yelling "AAAAHHHRRRGGGHHH!!!!!" from every single time he ever drove the lane and put up a shot. I bet somewhere there is video of Magic laying in an uncontested fast-break shot, having no one within 25 feet of him, and you can still hear him yelling "AAAAHHHRRRGGGHHH!!!!!" as he lays in the ball.

And guys like Seve Ballesteros? He was the MASTER of the mind game. I still remember him making dudes putt 1-foot putts in Ryder Cups, just to get in their heads. One time he made Tom Lehman putt out, and the crowd booed. Lehman turned to the crowd and said, "No, no. He's perfectly within his rights to ask me to putt out. Please don't boo him for doing something within the rules". As I recall, Lehman went on to bury Ballesteros in that match. THAT is how you do it, LOL.

.

Have you ever noticed the difference between how Americans display the "What? ME?!?" body language, and how Europeans do it?

I've been watching a lot of international soccer and I noticed Europeans bunch their shoulders together and hold out their hands palms up, right next to each other. Americans, on the other hand, throw out their hands to the sides, palms up.

None of that means anything, it's just something I noticed.

You can criticize LeBron, an legitimately so, for baiting Dray as a last resort.

But the blame starts with Dray. He picked up stupid, unnecessary fouls throughout the playoffs. Y'all aren't talking about those. Or the fact that the NBA REVERSED A SUSPENSION IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS THAT, IF IT STOOD, WOULD HAVE PROBABLY KNOCKED GOLDEN STATE OUT!

Y'all are giving Dray a pass. He doesn't deserve it. He built up the points on his record for several weeks. There's a reason that point system is in place -- to discipline repeat offenders. They gave him one reprieve. He didn't deserve another.

LBJ worked the refs and the league to give his team and his legacy a reprieve. But Dray put himself in that position.

2 bad in less than a week he will still be 2 - 5 in the Finals, The NBA will get it's 7 games, and fans will be happy.

Honestly, I'm getting to the point where the NBA is starting to bore me.

lol I knew a little about the Bad Boys of the Pistons back in the day but it wasn't until I caught the 30 for 30 documentary on ESPN about them that I got an indepth history lesson. Laimbeer was the dirtiest of them all and didn't hide it either. Hell, they barely got called on technicals and were doing wayyyyy more than the mess that is being pulled on the court today! Punches thrown, hard shoves, elbows everywhere. Shucks, LeBron would've been doing more than just crying had he played back in that era.

We still would've taken care of OKC regardless. I stand firm on that.

I don't give Dray a complete pass, but it's still my opinion that the bulk of the fault is on LeBron. Dray just fell for the bait. I still don't think it should've warranted a post game flagrant foul. A technical could've simply been given as punishment. It was all a part of the "plan" of the Cavs, that clearly worked in their favor. But it's cool, it's over now and Dray will be in Game 6.

He's a great player with a short fuse and points on his record. Most teams would have planned or pulled the same thing to get Dray suspended.

I've seen it happen with Rasheed Wallace, Metta World Peace, hell, even Kobe Bryant, to try to get them t'ed up, ejected or suspended. Bron saw his season going down in flames at home and pulled a Hail Mary. It worked. At least temporarily.

If Dray hadn't escaped suspension in the WCFs I would be with you. But he didn't keep his head and that's on him. Even his college coach, Tom Izzo, said as much this morning.

He quarterbacks the team on defense, gets 50-50 balls, helps move the ball to the shooters, and is a clutch player. HE HAS TO KEEP HIS HEAD.

By the way, he is a leader in tech fouls this season. He would have been close to suspension had a tech been called on him anyway.

And for those who say it was the league plan to extend the Finals, when Silver bailed Green out of his WCF suspension with the Warriors on the brink of elimination, was Golden State the beneficiary of a conspiracy to extend the OKC series?

It all came down to Dray acting right and realizing he was being baited. And Dray can't allow it to get to that point.

Yes.

How so though? Green kicked Adams in game 3 of the WCF, the foul was upgraded to a flagrant 2, then in game 4, Green played terribly and the Warriors lost anyway. So if he would had been hypothetically suspended for game 4, what difference what it had made? Giving the recent results, we would've lost anyway had he not played at all.
