I dont really watch much tv or movies - the last movie I saw in the cinema was 'Only lovers left alive' that was nearly 3 years ago. I kinda liked Jim Jarmusch's movies when i was growing up so gave it a whirl. I enjoyed it. The music soundtrack sounded gr8 blasted on a cinema sound system - apparently the music was recorded using analog recording technique. (4/5)

The Five People You Meet In Heaven 3/5 Not a great movie, actually not a movie at all a miniseries, but still somewhat theraputic.

Keanu. Felt like an extended, mildy funny Key & Peele sketch. Loved the George Michael references. I give it a B.

Dogtooth

I love that I've been replying this movie in my head since I finished it. So engaging and odd from beginning to end. I still have questions though. How did the parents get like that? What was ultimate the plan for Christina supposed to be? Was there ever another brother? Did he run away and the kids just assumed he lived on the other side of the fence?

4/5 love

Driving Miss Daisy

- 1989

I saw this film for the very first time, and ohh boy if i like it, beautiful movie it really made my night, so happy to watch this film and the beautiful relationship between the two characters; wonderful performances from both of them specially from Jessica Tandy, the end a little sad but sort of hopeful. 5/5

Jungle Book - a really great crowd-pleasing movie, meant in the most non-ironic, uncynical way. amazing to look at, completely immersive and one of the few 3d movies that I'd say is worth the extra money. and it wasn't three hours long. 4/5.

I just saw 'The Conjuring 2' and it was really good.If you love scary movies, you can't go wrong with this one. However,I see alot of people saying that this sequel is better than the original movie.I gotta disagree.I think the first movie is superior.Still, this sequel is great and has alot going for it. 4/5

RodeoSchro

We trundled off last night to watch "Now You See Me 2".

I thought "NYSM 1" was awesome. What a great concept! And the magicians always being one step ahead of everyone else was so entertaining. I loved it! Therefore, we were excited to see the sequel.

I got a little worried when I activated the RodeoSchro Previews Indicator System. Hmmmm, the previews that ran in front of this movie sucked. No action previews? Uh oh. I'm trying to remember what the previews were. Let's see....some movie about arresting Pablo Escobar. Pass. I can't remember the other previews but I do remember passing on every one of them. This is not usually a good sign for the feature presentation.

And of course, the RodeoSchro Previews Indicator System was right.

NYSM 2 is OK. Actually, if you're a zombie, it's probably a perfect movie. It moves fast, there's some cool tricks, and lots of flashing lights. But if you stop to think about any of it, then you start saying, "Wait - something's not right. For instance, they left the Octa guy hypnotized, staring at a camera and taking instructions from Good Woody Harrellson. They even showed how he was still hypnotized way after the Horsemen left town. It's three days later. Is he still hypnotized? Has anyone found him? Is he alive, or did he starve to death? If someone found him, is it possible to have broken the hypnotic speel, or could only Good Woody Harrellson do that? And was that guy really even bad, or was Harry Potter the real bad guy? So many questions!"

See? A zombie isn't going to think about all that, and will just enjoy the flashing lights. Therefore, if you aren't already a zombie, perhaps you should zombify yourself before going to see this movie. Just make sure you can un-zombify later. From what I hear, zombies have short lifespans.

I mentioned Good Woody Harrellson. That means there is a Bad Woody Harrellson. His evil twin brother, in fact. Ugh. Is there any plot device more hackneyed than the evil twin brother? I can't think of one right no but it's early on a Monday morning and I've only had three cups of coffee.

Still, I am sharp enough to tell you SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT. What follows are, I guess, spoilers. But c'mon - you already know the good guys win. About all you don't know is, who exactly are the good guys? Besides Good Woody Harrellson, who obviously is a good guy because he has "Good" for a first name.

Pretty much everyone except Harry Potter is a good guy. We'll get to Harry Potter in a second but first guess what! I've thought of a plot device even more hackneyed than the evil twin brother! And that plot device is:

Morgan Freeman.

Dude. Quit being Morgan Freeman and be someone else when you're in a movie. Quit being the wise old sage who knows everything and controls everything and says everything with a twinkle in your eye. You were awesome in NYSM 1 because you got mad. That's acting! But just being Morgan Freeman? Nah, not acting. Morgan Freeman is a major drain in this movie. But since he's a legend, let's blame the writers. Boo, writers!

And Boo writers! for employing the two most hackneyed plot devices there are - (1) Morgan Freeman being Morgan Freeman; and (2) the evil twin brother. Heck, let's make it a trifecta and add (3) the sarcastic yet talented female newcomer.

EDIT: I forgot to tell you that Harry Potter is in this movie. He's the bad guy. I've never seen any Harry Potter movies but if he's as bad in those as he was in this, I haven't missed anything.

I'm getting into a rut here, telling you everything that was wrong with this movie, when it's really not THAT bad. It's just that I'm not a zombie and I can't put my brain into zombie mode. All these actual thoughts and conclusions keep running through my non-zombie brain, and they get transferred to the internets via my furiously moving fingers. Sorry.

Maybe if I quote Homer Simpson? I bet that will help! "Alright brain. You don't like me and I don't like you. But let's just do this and I can get back to killing you with beer".

Let's see if that worked. How about if I type...ummmmm...DONUTS! Mmmmmmmmmm, donuts.

Alright! Zombie Brain Mode is activated!

This is a good summer movie. Lots of tricks and action and flashing lights and also it has James Franco's little brother Dave, who is as enjoyable to watch onscreen as his big brother is (meaning big brother James, not big brother Tom. Wait, that's too much thinking. Zombie Brain Mode wearing off! Must hurry!).

Go see this movie and try not to spend any time being bummed out that Mélanie Laurent is not in it. If you're zombiefied enough, you won't even notice that! Or any of the other gaping plot holes and worn-out devices.

Ah, screw it. I'm back to normal now. Better wrap this up with my rating.

"Now You See Me 2" gets 1 1/2 Rabbits Pulled Out of a Hat out of 5 possible Rabbits Pulled Out of a Hat. Go see it, I guess, if you have nothing better to do, want to sit in an air-conditioned theater for a couple hours, and not hate yourself when you leave.

They offer something different. Not the same storyline over and over. Maybe I should have said Independence Films, but you know what I mean. I forgot to mention I saw the movie on Prime Amazon Video.

I give it 5 stars out of 5. IMO The Conjuring movies are horror classics. I put them up there with the Exorcist, The Omen, Damien, Alien, Halloween 1 & 2 and Amityville Horror. I can watch these movies over and over again. popcorn

I liked the first (more-character-based, more comic) half better than the second.

The movie was inventive (if more than a little implausible). And Colin Farrell was great!

Very funny, very stylishly shot (by Gordon Willis), and a very moving ending.

I watched 3 Judy Holliday films, Born Yesterday (1950) It Should Happen To You and

Phffft! (1954) with Jack Lemmon. OMG she was an amazing actress who also died too soon at only 43 (from breast cancer in 1965). She could make u laugh and cry at the same time, and she had great chemistry with Jack cloud9 I could watch this scene from 'Phffft!' all day https://www.youtube.com/w...nZG_1SgcdQ I give all 3 films 4.5 out of 5 popcorn

Jack-Lemmon-Judy-Holliday-Should-Happen

She was intelligent and not at all like the dumb blonds she so often depicted. She didn’t give a damn where the camera was placed, how she was made to look, or about being a star. She just played the scene — acted with, not at. She was also one of the nicest people I ever met. (Jack Lemmon on Judy Holliday)

Superman: The Movie (1978)

A rite of summer for me. Nearly 40 years later, it set the blueprint for modern superhero movies. State of the art for its time, great cast, great score (John Williams' score may be better than the one for Star Wars), and script that brings the story into modern times without affecting the mystique of the character.

Love & Friendship (2016) - Lady Susan Vernon takes up temporary residence at her in-laws' estate and, while there, is determined to be a matchmaker for her daughter Frederica -- and herself too, naturally.

I didn't expect it to be so funny. And it was very funny. 4/5
