Cleveland Cavaliers 89 Golden State Warriors 104


The Golden State Warriors came into these NBA Finals having had the greatest regular season in NBA history yet having to dig deep and come from behind against the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the Western Conference Finals. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers had a relatively easy path to return to the NBA Finals, winning all but two games on the way. The Cavs were coming into these Finals looking for revenge from last season and hoping that a fully healthy squad with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love both present would make a difference.

The game started out pretty tight, with both teams feeling themselves out, but Golden State would jump out to a huge lead in the second quarter. Unlike past games where Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson ignited the runs, the bench would figure to be huge in this game. They were propelled by Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa, who would put the Warriors up by as much as 14 points before going into the half with an 11 point lead.

The Cavs would come storming back in the third quarter thanks to Kyrie Irving, who led all scorers in this game with 26 points, and Tristan Thompson, who scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. They would briefly take the lead with about two minutes remaining in the thiord quarter.

But then the Warriors would explode again, once again due to their bench. Livingston and Barbosa led the way along with Andre Iguodala, and they would extend Golden State's lead all the way to 20 points before cruising to victory. In fact, seven Warriors would end up with double digit scores, and Stephen Curry was among the lower scoring players with just 11 points, though he did have six assists and five rebounds. Shaun Livingston led the Warriors with 20 points, Draymond Green finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals, Harrison Barnes added 13 points, Andre Iguodala added 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, Leandro Barbosa added 11 points, and Andrew Bogut threw in 10 points.

Lebron James fell just short of a triple double, finishing with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists, while Kevin Love finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds. But the Cavs collectively shot just 38% from the floor, their worst shooting percentage this postseason.

Golden State leads series 1-0.

Oh my...anytime when the bench kicks ass and you still can't deliver. One down, three more to go.

Cavs have to get better ball movement on offense. Four cats standing around while one does his thing won't get it done.

I'd love for Lebron to win, but it won't be this year. Warriors are loaded - their bench scored 45 fucking points! Lebron sits for a quick rest, and Cleveland falls behind by 10......damn. Can Kyrie Irving make an EFFORT to play defense? I saw the Cavs bench shaking their heads at him.

Man I saw Lowry break Kyrie ankles a few times during the Toronto - Cavs series.

I was also about to state that all the so called San Antonio Spurs fans that were here a couple

seasons ago when they won the title haven't had shit to say this postseason and they damn

sure hid under a rock when they lost to the Clippers in the first round last season.

If he was all this great, why does he have to jump from team to team? Why can't he take his team all the way in the finals? All these excuses instead of recognizing who the common denominator is.

You mean the championships he was given with a Thunder who was the better team who had no coach and the second championship was damn near hand wrapped and gifted and given to him? Also I have been a Spurs fan since way back when they had the whole gang on there with Robinson and Bowen. I even remember vividly watching them sweep and spank Cleveland with ya boy Lebron back in 07 The Spurs is a great organization with a legendary coach and have a group of humble men and appear to be growing in a great direction. Its always interesting and funny how Lebron stans make these elementary arguments just because some choose not to kiss LeJanes ass or drink the NBA koolaid.

Do yourself a favor, watch a single game from a rule book perspective, and see hw many violations a gme Lebron gets away with, that are calls against other players. All I'm saying is, just make the same calls for everyone. Are u telling me Lebron doesn't get special treatment to the extreme?
