I might be rating this documentary a little higher than I should because I really liked Amy Winehouse and was fortunate to see her in concert twice before she got the reputation of being a very unreliable live act. 4.5/5

Ryno de Marigny (Fu’ad Aït Aattou) is a penniless womanizing nobleman engaged to a wealthy, young, and inexperience woman named Hermangarde (Roxanne Mesquida). On the eve of the couples nuptials Ryno is summond to Hermangarde grandmother's home, Marquise de Flers. The grandmother demands Ryno give a full account of his relationship with La Vellini (Asia Argento). In flashbacks, Ryno leaves out no details of his decade long relationship with Vellini. Ryno assures Hermangarde grandmother he's deeply in love and has ended his relationship with Vellini.

The acting is superb, Fu’ad Aït Aattou (Ryno) is so beatiful it almost hurts to look at him. Directed Catherine Breillat. has a rep for explicit eroticism, to her credit she pulled back in this film. Superb acting by Ryno de Marigny (Fu’ad Aït Aattou) and La Vellini (Asia Argento) with some Kama Sutra positions thrown in... conveys the couples excessive sexual desires The supporting cast is just as grand; Hermangarde grandmother, played by Claude Sarraute is a scene stealer. The surreal humour...typical French.

I liked this one, but the sight of Asia Argento's implants and back tattoo I found jarring in the context of this period piece.

I don't take points off for inaccuracies because all biopics are fiction. If I want something closer to the truth, I'll watch a documentary.

San Andreas. 3.5 outta 5 stars.

Because of a few negative reviews, i had put off seeing San Andreas.

I finally watched it and thought it was pretty entertaining. Some of the dialogue was kinda lame and some of the action sequences far fetched, but overall it was a good disaster flick. It was cool seeing my hometown (San Francisco) get destroyed like it did. Hopefully that won't happen in real life though.

Anyway people who critique everything about a movie probably should lighten up a bit. For the most part, it's just entertainment.

I always take points off for historical inaccuracies. Not everybody will know the actual history of a film or watch a documentary about real events, and a film's version of events (however inaccurate) can easily become the mass public's version of history.

In general, neither do I. However, the misrepresentation of history and how easily it can be absorbed by the masses does concern me.

Fair enough. Then there is the opposite response where people don't know a movie is based on real events like the kids a few years ago who thought the Titanic was a just a movie and not a real ship.

Beautifully shot remake of Walt Disney's 1950 animated classic with some interesting changes. I expected a bit more but will probably watch again. 3.5/5

I´m with Lianachan on this one. I´m really fickle about historical accuracy because it´s a thin line between historical inaccuracy and thinly veiled propaganda , or revisionism.

This being said, I can still enjoy wellmade movies even though the historical innaccuracies bother me a bit (Ghandi, Lawrence of Arabia, Midnight Express, JFK, etc. ).

Its about the history of female back-up singing, in short. Funny, exciting, heartbreaking and very entertaining. I'm pretty sure the org would appreciate this.

8/10. Very funny at times, heartbreaking and also really had me on the edge of my seat... But it's really no simple action flick, it puts great emphasis on the characters.

Now THAT is some weird movie. Kudos to Scarlett Johansson for starring in such a low budget production. I really liked it, especially the slow pace and Scarlett´s sexy aura in this flic but I think a little bit more of an explanation would have made it more interesting.

Then again, I think not explaining anything was part of the charme of this slow and quiet little gem of a film.

I almost stopped watching halfway through, it was so unnerving. I'm glad I stayed with it, but I was gutted at the end. I don't have enough people to discuss it with!

It has been said that many of the scenes of Scarlett driving around in the van were filmed Candid Camera style with the locals not recognizing her as an actress.

I believe I also read the deformed character she picked up was not wearing a mask. That is his real face.
