Ben is being politically correct.

Ben Roethlisberger says Mark Barron's tackle was illegal, but not dirty

By Daniel Sager

Ben_STL

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is questioning the legality of a tackle from St. Louis Rams S Mark Barron that caused a deep bone bruise and grade 2 MCL sprain in his Pro Bowl knee.

He told Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the hit “could have been” called as a penalty, but he doesn’t think Barron’s tackle was a dirty play.

The legality of the play ... discussed, and an interpretation of the current rules would seem to indicate that Barron’s tackle, although clearly incidental, was still a violation of a league rule adopted after Tom Brady suffered a torn ACL in Week 1 of the 2007 season.

The injury will cost Roethlisberger over a month of game action based on his initial four to six week recovery timetable (although neither he nor head coach Mike Tomlin are ready to place a timetable of their own on the injury), but the two-time Super Bowl champion isn’t harboring any stale feelings or ill will towards Barron.

Mike Perreia says the play should have been flagged. I couldn't tell from
the angle that I saw but you know if that was Brady, Mark Barron would have
been in jail. lol

This was a dirty play plain and simple.

Thanks, Ben is being a trooper, ha.

I was looking at some of the video but none of them really showed a good angle. From the little I could see it does appear the guy turned his body to hit Ben before he fell.

Good question especially with all the evidence of brain trauma we have now. The NFL needs better support for long term care of players.

This ain't your average job.

I think players should be suspended 4 this type of nonsense.

This game is violent enough without hits like this.

This could have easily been avoided.

Agreed, but the NFL will not do it unless we force them to. It sure as hell won't be out of the kindness of their hearts.

Steelers vs Ravens 8:30 pm tonight

Keys to a steeler victory:
Mike Vick no turnovers. If he has 2 or more the Ravens win.
Run LeVeon run. Run DeAngelo run. Mike Vick throwing 5 to 10
yards to Anonio Brown and Heath Miller and let them do the rest.
Defense holding Ravens to at least 17 or less.
In short Mike Vick doesn't need to win the game for the Steelers.
He just needs to get the ball to the guys who can athletically win it.
Mike also doesn't need to throw it no more than 25 times.

Vikings first big test Sunday...road game at Denver...Peterson needs to control the clock with the running game and keep the ball out of Manning's hands...defense needs to beat up Manning like they beat up Stafford and Rivers...Zimmer got Minnesota using remnants of the old Chicago Bears 46 defense from the mid 80's...putting 8 men on the line pre-snap...blitzing 2 linebackers at a time over the center..or faking the A-gap blitz and dropping into coverage while safeties (Harrison Smith) or corners (Captain Munnerlyn/Xavier Rhodes) blitz off the corners...Vikings defense looking championship caliber...Everson Griffen, Anthony Barr, Rhodes, Smith, Eric Kendricks, Sharing Floyd, all playing at pro-bowl level

You're confusing us with the 49er fans. You see how quickly they ran

out of here last season and none of them are here now. They only show

Bell had over 100yds

Vick had no TOs and was pretty efficient even tho he didnt pass for big yards

O-line played well in run game but gave up 4 sacks

Scobee's missed FGs were the difference

Vick made some bad throws in the 2nd half. He also panics when you take his first option away.

Some people think Vick is the same qb he was in 2002. His skills has eroded since he was with

the Eagles. The o-line missed a few blocks but Vick just panic some tonight.

Yes if Scobee makes fg's the Steelers win. He cost them the game tonight. He's been horrible

not really familiar with last season on the org, i signed up here near the end of 2014 and didnt even realize there were sports related threads till later...but yeah the Vikings always seem to have some kind of dysfunction since the Leslie Frazier era, but with Mike Zimmer coaching, and now that #28 is back home, and Teddy is progressing nicely, and that defense is wreaking havoc on QB's, the immediate future looks nice...

He played decent enough to win but he made some bad throws. The 4th and 2 pass

to Antonio Brown was wild and high. He played scared. There was a point late in the

4th the offense only had only mustered 62 yards before Bell got going again.

I won't use the fog as an excuse. lol It didn't affect Baltimore's kicker so it shouldn't have

affected Scobee.

Hopefully.

I just saw on Yahoo where Marcus Vick even questioned the play call on that first 4th and 2

where Vick ran the sweep. He said on Twitter not the qb sweep you have Bell. disbelief
