There will be a Game of Thrones movie AUTHOR George R.R. Martin has let slip that a Game of Thrones movie is in the works. The novelist created the books on which the hit TV drama is based, and he has also written a number of episodes for the show and acts as co-executive producer. Martin has now revealed that Game of Thrones will continue on the big screen once the show finishes, but he will not be involved in the project as he is busy working on the remaining books. He tells Ibnlive.com, “There will be a movie but I will not be involved. I have too much to do. That is something HBO and (executive producers) DB (D.B. Weiss) and David (Benioff) are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do. The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don’t write faster.” Reports suggest Game of Thrones will end after eight seasons.

I don't understand why this show is so big. Don't get me wrong, I've never missed an episode and I am looking forward to the next season but there are far better shows that's come and gone that haven't got half as big a following. I wonder if Justified had been on HBO and had women getting their tits out in every episode would it have been a bigger hit? .....Actually, thinking about it...yes..yes it would.

Justified (which I like) just doesn't have the o-sh*t that just happened moments (the killing off of the lead characters). That in combination of important frontal nudity, interesting sstory lines make GOT a hit. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

It makes for a great impact in the short term but sometimes it feels like they kill people off when they've run out of ideas. Like how the writers of Friends would have someone get married or have a baby because the show couldn't hold people's interests with manufacturing some "drama"

HBO President of Programming Michael Lombardo had a different opinion, however — at least about concluding the current series with a feature film: “When you start a series with our subscribers, the promise is that for your HBO fee that we’re going to take you to the end of this. I feel that on some level [a movie would be] changing the rules: Now you have to pay $16 to see how your show ends.” __________________________________________________________________________________ I Loved Entourage like a Chick Loved Sex in the City....I didnt go to the theater to see my Boys on The Silver Screen..The reviews were so terrible I decided to wait for HBO to show it..

Would people go see a movie if there was going to be one? For me the mere mention of one seemed exhausting. The show is a fun ride but the idea of dragging it out just to drag it out is depressing. I realize that Universe isn't about happily ever after but it would be nice to have somebody from the beginning of the story actually be the one to acquire the throne.

That's not what the GOT show does, it throws road blocks to the over all arc of the show. The show will be heading for one way and the central character is then killed off. Changing the direction of the story Arc. Thus, the title Game of Thrones. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
