Saw Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation last night. It was really good. Very action packed. Me and hubby really liked it. Tom was terrific as usual.

Irrational Man 5 stars out of 5
Forget that Woody Allen has made yet another movie about a May-December romance and just focus on the murder plot, which I thought was terrific. One of Allen's best written scripts.

The 39 Steps 4 stars out of 5
My Alfred Hitchcock summer continues! This gem from 1935 shines with black humour.

The Trouble With Harry 4 star out of 5
Hilarious black humour about a group of people trying to deal with a dead body. It gets buried and dug up 4 times! Also it's a 24 year old Shirley Maclaine's first film role. Ahhh... Shirley!

this guy (in image with sean connery), rob brown is a very good actor imo.>>>>>>> ;dove: this movie was released in 2000,( a very busy time in my life) i found it a rating . i really admire and find respect in sean connery's acting style. as far as the co star rob brown, he was VERY good in portraying his charecter "jamal wallace." here's a short glmpse of actor bob brown's bio: https://en.wikipedia.org/...wn_(actor) (he's listed as doring a role in the movie 'criminal actvities, a 2015 release. : https://en.wikipedia.org/...Activities “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

In the mood to revisit 80s pop culture psuedo-classics; put in a double feature of which i can't remember which one I actually watched last (or first)
and
Ummm...I was young once, and am no prude, but ermmm, look, I DON'T REMEMBER GIRLS BEING THIS GATDAMNED FAST WHEN I WAS TEEN No wonder I never got a chance to see these movies when they came out (even if I waited a few years to be of reasonable age). The Christy McNicholl one eventually evens out okay when the focus is on her character and her dealing with her adoloscent feelings rearding sexuality, but the Tatum O'Neal storyline..and then Brooke Shields character in Endless Love with the permissive parents and that momma in particular? Honeeeeeey, these characters; way more advanced than I knew of teens at that time . I had suuch a hard time relating to the characters I give 'em both /5
and a second look. | |

Young And Innocent 2 stars out of 5
Made in 1937, this early Alfred Hitchcock is unintentionally funny with it's old English mannerisms.

I'm going to see The Fantastic 4 Reboot this weekend but everybody says it's BAD...The flick cost $120-Million and only brought in $27-Million over the weekend placing it @ Number 2 in The States...That's not good....Over the past few months Theaters showed 2 trailers and the flick seemed interesting but still a mystery becuz the audience has to get to know 4 new Faces..The Studio did not promote it enough, yeah they signed a promotional Deal with Denny's but who eats at Denny's? I'll go to a Waffle House before I step foot in a Denny's...

Family Plot 3 stars out of 5
Alfred Hitchcock's last movie in 1976, four years before he died. My favourite actor Bruce Dern is in this one, so that upped the star count for me. An amusing tale.

I agree with you Ace. I only laughed at the puking on the window and the basketball dunk. The rest of the time I was amused, but I thought it was a run-of-the-mill romcom.

It's time for another exciting chapter of Movies That I Watched The Last Half Of - GEEK EDITION! What, you ask, is GEEK EDITION? Meh, just a dorky name I made up to signify that I Googled a lot of stuff, and have found out lots of really cool but unrelated information. [Edited 8/13/15 19:17pm]

1. Inside Out Ending to me was everything. 4/5
2. Mission Impossible Rogue Nation didn't dissapoint, wasn't blown away either. 3/5
3. When Marnie Was There Besides the unneccessary details that conplicate the plot, loved it. Very candid, and quite unlike the typical Ghibli. 4/5 [Edited 8/12/15 19:47pm]

I don't watch many movies but the last one I saw was The Stoning Of Soraya M. Definitely 5 out of 5. It's one of those movies everyone should see, and once you watch it you will be forever changed. But it's also a very difficult movie to watch. It's the true story of a woman who was stoned to death in Iran in 1980 because her husband accused her of adultery. The reason her husband accused her was because he wanted to mary a younger woman, and if he divorced his wife he couldn't afford to pay her alimony; hence he knew the adultery allegation would end with her stoning and leave him free of her. Shohreh Aghdashloo is an amazing actress (from House of Sand & Fog) ... the stoning scene is horrendous and will leave you in tears but is important to watch because it gives the viewer a sense of what a horrific form of execution stoning is - one that is intended to be long and drown out, slow and painful and humiliating. Insane that it still happens in the world today.
