What are some good make up foundations?

I've been using neutrogena healthy skin liquid foundation for a few months now but I notice after I apply it, the foundation will only stay on my face for a few hours. I was wondering, will my foundation stay on my face more if I apply powder make up over the liquid foundation? or are there any better brands that did the job better? I heard of the new" Clinique" foundation and that's it's expensive but I bet it works very good. I'm a male and only been using make up for a few months. I feel so much better about myself when I'm wearing it.If any of you can give me advice on make up foundation tips, please do so

I use gemey. It's good enough.

Sometimes I just don't use anything, not in the mood for sum make up.

Go to the makeup counter at a department store like Macy's or Bon Ton, and ask for a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear. They can also help match you to the correct shade. The free sample will give you enough to try for awhile to see if it's worth buying the whole bottle which is around $40-$50. A lot of people swear by this particular foundation, (makeup alley website, etc.) If the coverage is too heavy for you, they have a thinner version called Double Wear Light.

..

For me, applying powder over a foundation makes for a cakey, fake appearance, but I've heard it works for other people. Depends on your skin type, wrinkles, etc. Remember that foundations can be "buildable" meaning you can apply one layer and let it dry and then apply more layers as you see fit. That will make it stay longer, but you'll have to play with it to find a balance between too thick and natural looking. Remember to always blend it in very well so that you don't have obvious lines around your neck and chin. If you have deep pores, you'll want to press the foundation into the pores to fill them versus just wiping the foundation across your face.

..

Look to youtube to find a lot of makeup advice in videos that can be very helpful, but be careful because some of the youtubers get paid to promote any products, good or bad. I've found Wayne Goss to be trustworthy and he has good taste.

I use Boobi Brown or Bare Minerals loose powder. Love both of them.

I use Dr. Jart BB cream and I LOOOVE it. It's light coverage, but I use a concealer for the parts that need more. My skin looks so healthy from using it.

If you prefer to stay with a foundation, Laura Mercier has really great products. You get what you pay for.
