I'm getting a new HDTV! so I've been saving up for a hdtv and I finally have enough money. I now have a 19 inch samsung tv but I'm gonna get a 40 inch hdtv, I like my Samsung tv but i need a bigger one so I think I'll get a 40 inch samsung tv unless some of you orgers can recommend any other brands that are better? I heard the" Insignia" brand has good picture but terrible sound There's Joy in repetition |

If you want to enjoy the sound of any HDTV you'll have to connect it to your audio receiver ![nod](/i/s/icon_nod.gif) |

The picture is outstanding and while I have it connected to a sound bar.(my room is a tad too small for a big sound system) it does the job. I have a 42-inch Vizio LCD TV I bought in 2010 whihc was state of the art at the time but probably ancient now. Having said that, it' still working wonderfully for me.
But I really can't recommend a particular TV without knowing what you would use it for, what your budget is, and where you plan on watching it. If you're planning on watching TV and movies in your living room, and your living room is a standard size room in a house or apartment, then any 40 to 46 inch HDTV would probably work. Samsung and Vizio have the best TV's for a smaller budget, and you can get a decent TV for anywhere between $350 and $700 dollars. If you have a larger den-sized living space, then you may want to upgrade to a 55-inch TV, but expect to pay an additional $100 to $250 dollars for it.
If you plan on connecting a Roku, Chromecast, or Amazon Fire Stick so you can watch Netflix or YouTube videos or listen to Pandora, then any normal HDTV with an HDMI port will work, but you may get a smart TV that has some of those apps preloaded. If you plan on playing games on it with your Playstation 4 ot Xbox One, then you may want to find one with a good LED display and good sound quality or invest in a sound bar.

so I made my choice and I purchased a 40 inch samsung tv and it is mighty nice! ! when watching a bluray, I see stuff in the background that I couldn't ever see in my old tv and I noticed actors pimples more so. I was disappointed with the sound until I made some changes. I have a very small room so my aunt told me if the tv looks too big for my room and I told her that was the idea. I'm a happy camper! Think about investing in a soundbar. I have one, and the sound is great. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth" |
