I want to open, or better have opened, a Paypal account.
As far as I know I can use it without a credit card. I have to add a bank account, right?

What does "branch location" mean?

It says "Add a German bank account to withdraw money from your PayPal account."
Does this mean that I cannot pay with it?

"Branch Location" means the location of you bank that you listed.

You can pay with your PayPal account only after you have deposited funds in it. Either by electronic transfer, someone sending you money to your account or by mailing them a check (I think they still do that).

And I can do this "electronic transfer" when I add a bank account (without credit card)?

Yes you can! You will have to verify that account first. They will make 2 deposits into your account w/ in the next 48 hours. After they make those deposits you can verfiy your bank account by entering the exact amount of the deposit they made to your account. Then you are all set to do the electronic transfer. Electronic transfers take roughly about 3 days to process between you and the person you are sending the money to. Hope that helps!
