I haven't properly listened to the radio in probably 25 years I have no radio as part of the HiFi anymore since ages my wife occasionally uses some small standalone radio/CD combo in the kitchen
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

I have a radio as part of my stereo components: a receiver. Unfortunately, I never listen to the radio, as local stations pale in comparison to the things I listen to on Pandora, Gaydio from the U.K., or satilite radio (Sirius XM) in the truck. Many years ago I was a radio DJ for the station's Saturday Night Hot Mix and found that its mainstream programming was too restrictive for a disc jockey to just play whatever he or she wanted - or even what listeners might request - because time was bought by record labels and they controlled what was played. That was very frustrating but sure opened my eyes about how radio stations work. Think about it, otherwise - how would they pay a staff of any kind? They would have to do pledge drives to stay on the air. That's when I realized how the industry manipulates what the audience listens to and who "rises to the top" of the charts. And prior to that, in the late 80's I worked for a station called Cable Radio. It was a new thing at the time - ahead of the Internet - where people received "radio" in their cable TV lines that went to a stereo receiver (not video). I did a DJ/dance night for them too - and there was a lot more freedom to play what you wanted, but it didn't last too long, unfortunately. So now, I guess I avoid local radio stations just because they seem too mainstream or because I know their methods of paying the bills. When new music comes on, and it's crap, yet they force it upon you - you tend to seek other mediums! It's a long way away from what Queen expressed in "Radio Gaga."

The only working radio I have is in my mp3 player. I do have a stereo receiver but I've never used the radio on it because you need an antenna to pick up any stations on it. And since they don't play much of anything on the radio I care about, and haven't for 20 years, I never saw the point of buying one.

I have a clock radio, boom box, component set and a walkman....that's four radios not counting my satellite radio setup in the house and car. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I have working radios in my living room stereo receiver, my kitchen boombox and my bedroom alarm clock. I also have a functioning Walkman at work. I only really listen to the radio now though for sports and news and I don't need to for sports because I can hear baseball games through the MLB app on my phone (but it rapidly drains the battery). So my radios at home go pretty much unused during the baseball offseason.

I haven't listened to "terrestrial" radio since I got Sirius (about 7 years ago).

With the exception of the times I'm in the car no radio. Nope not one in the house which is bad because its suppose to be part of the earthquake kit ( I keep forgetting my daughter took the boom box when she moved). Which is even worse since I've already gone through what its like when the grid goes down, not even cellphones were working., it was a living hell not knowing what was going on immediately. Damn its easy to just rely on these digital devices.

I don't have a real radio, and I don't have an alarm clock. I use my phones for the radio and alarm. One of my phones has an FM receiver and now I listen to radio also on my new phone from iheartradio, which have some local stations as well as stations from other parts of the u.s. Don't need a radio.

I have one in my car, but not in my house. I don't have TV, either, and I was really wanting to listen to the Giants game 7, and I couldn't. It was a bummer, but more than that, it made me realize that I still should have one in case of an emergency. When nuclear war happens, I want someone on the radio to confirm that we're all fucked My Legacy

I have an alarm clock/radio combo which was a wedding gift 24 years ago...we still use it to listen to sports talk radio every morning. I also have a CD/radio combo which I use in our walk in closet while taking a shower and getting dressed. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

It sounds okay. It's portable, light-weight. It can get wet! Battery operated. Cute. This might be the best one on this thread. What?

I can understand the obselecese of things such as typewriters and telephone booths...but radio seemed like something that would forever be a part of our society, like electricity or toilets. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I know what you mean. Sometimes the reception for internet radio is spotty and goes in and out. But I think the other phone I have, the radio is a regular radio where you have to tune it so hopefully that one is okay.

Radio is broadcast through my TV through cable. I'm sure you have it. Regular radio never worked on my radio that I have connected to my stereo. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
