May/December Romance: Susan Sarandon is Pimpin'....or is she?

I was reading Page Six today of the NY Post and it seems that 68-year-old Susan Sarandon is enjoying spending time with her 37-year-old boyfriend. How long do you think this relationship will last? When they started dating, he was 33 and she was already over 60. Is a 31 year old age gap too much?

What do you guys think?

shrug It's Hollywood land and she's got clout, lots of it. Stuff like that is quite the norm.

No biggie to me, I don't think any differently of her.

Relationships are such a complicated business, ones got to get when one can.

Yeah I guess as long as she's having a good time that's all that matters. He's obviously benefiting somehow from being in the relationship as well. I doubt they will be together for much longer but stranger things have happened! I didn't realize that Tim Robbins was 12 years younger than she is. That surprised me.

Susan Sarandon has broken her silence on her romance with a man 31 years her junior.

She was tired of being asked :"Oh! Is this your grandson? How cute?"

I think once you hit late 20s to early 30's age doesn't really matter to either partner.

Nothing new for Susan... lol

Susan Sarandon on David Bowie romance: 'He's worth idolising'

The Academy Award-winning actress had a love affair with the singer

Susan Sarandon has laid bare her feelings for a certain “rock star” with whom she enjoyed a love affair – none other thanDavid Bowie.

The Oscar-winning actress described the iconic singer-songwriter, who she reportedly dated in the Eighties when they were both filming The Hunger, as “extraordinary”.

“He’s worth idolising. He’s extraordinary. That was a really interesting period,” she told The Daily Beast.

“I wasn’t supposed to have kids, and I’m the oldest of nine and had mothered all of them, so I wasn’t ever in a mode to where I was looking to settle down and raise a family, so that definitely changes the gene pool you’re dipping into.

“But Bowie’s just a really interesting person, and so bright. He’s a talent, and a painter, and… he’s great,” she said.

The 67-year-old said that marrying young “knocked out most of my 20s to be f***ing around” but that she had enjoyed “a couple of famous, pretty interesting” relationships, including that with the singer.

Sarandon recently starred in The Last of Robin Hood, as the stage mother of a 15-year-old (Dakota Fanning) who has an affair with 48-year-old film icon Errol Flynn (Kevin Kline).

Asked about the ongoing focus on May-December romances in the movie industry, she said: “For some reason, age difference is more accepted in cultures when the man is older and the woman is younger.”

“You know, films are great when they reframe reality and cause conversations and dialogue. I’m much more bothered by violence in film - especially violence that’s connected in some way to be sexy.

“For me, that’s always been more problematic when I was guiding what my kids were looking at.”

Whatever floats her boat. If it's good enough for older men, it's good enough for older women.

Gotta give that dude credit, doing it with a 68 year old woman. I guess the old saying is true - everyone looks hot when the lights go out.

why not?

1. dude's a relative child. he would be hard to talk to about anything meaningful that occurred before the 1990s;

2. she's old enough to be his mommy and there's a good chance he'll mistake susan for her; and

3. she runs the risk (as a lot of wealthy, lonely folk do) of being be with someone who's playing her for money.

I think in the short term, she is having fun but I agree with you that in the long run that she will be dumped by this guy at some point and he will move on to someone closer to him in his age, or most likely someone half his age. He will pull an Ashton Kutcher and have a serious come up at some point in the near future.

Women get left by men their own age all the time. Its not as if age is some kind of emotional guarantee you'll be loved til the grave. So if nothing is guaranteed anyway why not enjoy what you can when you can. Bank accounts get wiped out too. Why settle on some predetermined ideas that make outside people feel comfortable as oppose to what brings you a bit of joy.

Old age, is it a blessing or a curse? I wonder sometimes.

I pretty much agree with this - you should have some kind of a clue about who you are by your late 20s.

Yeah that makes sense. No guarantees in life so you might as well seize the day!
