Giving it 100 daysl January first.

Ok, this is a thread for those who want to change something before the first of January.

I read recently in O magazine about a site called giveit100.com and what you do is do something for 100 days and video the results. One woman decided that she was going to do pushups.

I don't have the ability to video myself for 100 days but I am pretty excited by the fact that I could do anything much better if I did it consistently for 100 days.

So I have joined a gym. I weight 182lbs right now and I use to weigh 252 in 2011 so I am glad that I weigh less but I have not reached my fitness goal. My goal is not only to weigh less but get some serious muscle going. I really want that Ernestine Shepherd thing going on! My height is 5'3" so I would be better off weighing no more then 150lbs. An ex of mine said that I am not a petite so I deffinately can weigh more then others my size.

I joined the gym, maybe tomorrow I will actually exersize in it, lol.

There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

Thank you! I am proud of the fact that it hasn't come back on.

I went to day and did some sort of treadmill. I did it for 3miles an hour and for 35 minutes. I thought that would be easy, lol. Well it produced a nice amount of sweat. I only walked just under 2 miles and burned something like 198 calories, but I could feel it.

Unfortunately I was there around 5pm. That was not so smart because everyone was getting out of work. When I went downstairs into the weight room (which also has those machines that tighten your abs and do wonders for your back and shoulders) I did not want to putter while more experienced members were there. Truthfully I am sore and pooped.

I did see heavier women really burning up some of the treadmill type machines:-o ; I am eager to join their ranks!

Hey why not? This woman did an amazing amount of push-ups in 100 days given that she couldn't really even do one the first day. I have not gone in today, so off I go. I am at the library waiting for a message about a job.

Yeah! I got up 330 pounds about six months ago and then had some back issues. That's all fixed, but I'm starting out now at just under 300 pounds. Might be hard to add 50 pounds to my benchpress in 100 days but I am going to lift like a banshee until then!

I'm serious, it is awesome. So you know if you keep pushing at it you'll find your solution. I wish you luck at the gym, not really my thing.

Well there has to be something that you always wanted to get better at or stop doing so much of. It is actually fun to think of it in a finite time frame.

You might be able to jump higher.

You might be able to improve your fishing skills.

You might be able to grow longer and stronger toe nails or finger nails.

The choice is yours.

I really enjoy this way of looking at it. Not the rest of my life, just seeing what I can accomplish in 100 days. Today I went to the gym, set the treadmill at 3miles an hour, random (hill and flat) and 60minutes. I ended up walking off over 300 calories and, with the cooldown included, over 3 miles. My mother was 76 when she died and very fit (She got hit by a truck while crossing the street in a cross walk I might add) and I still look at her as my inspiration.

Getting into some serious stretching, the real stuff not that stuff folks do before a run. I'm losing my flexibility and fluidity and its ticking me off getting old and stiff.
