Game of Thrones fans, here's the good news first: George R.R. Martin's editor, Anne Groell, hinted that the author's beloved A Song of Ice and Fire series (the source material for the popular HBO show) could have eight books instead of the planned seven, The Guardian reports. The bad news? Considering Martin's notoriously slow writing process — which may be partly blamed on the boot-up time of his DOS computer — you'd have to wait even longer to see how this saga wraps up.
Read more: http://www.rollingstone.c...z33dmy7qz7 Eight books? Rickon should be old and the Lord of Winterfell by then. Heck this should be him recapping the history of his older siblings. I got 2 minor things to say. I thought it was cute that Dany was braiding her translator's hair. She's all kaleeshi and mother of dragons and all that, when in truth she's just a big ole teenage girl at heart. Gossiping and doing hair. And, now how many youtube vids are going to show up with folks burping the rains of castamere? |

I want this show to end within 5 to 6 years cause I'm craving to see a conclusion on screen. If books 4 and 5 (parallel story lines) are going to make up seasons 5 and 6 how many more seasons will 3 more books made. I haven't read them but fans say very little happens in them so maybe they will be compressed into one season? The show is going to have to make up it's own storylines to finish cause I doubt even book 7 will be finished when the time comes to adapt it. |

The actor was awesome and a fun to watch in a show that is getting pretty my fill of misery and suffering. Honestly half way thru last nights episode I started thinking is this really worth my time, cause everyone is gonna die sooner or later. Plus Im not really into the Bolton's or the Greystones.
Plus wasn't it known that Jorah was a former spy for Kings Landing? Or were the viewers aware of it only?
Honestly haveing read the spoilers the only thing Im interested in is Brienna.
Yes!!!! I am hoping that Prince Oberyn has an indenticsl twin brother who will come to Kings Landing and reck havoc!!
I have not read any spoilers or the books, but am so tempted now just to know what to expect.
If the series does go for eight books, I suspect the tv series would have well and truly wrapped up by then, and it would finish as a movie or two.
Did you know that the actor who plays The Mountain is an Icelandic strongman and is the second strongest man in the world? [Edited 6/4/14 5:51am]You know you are in love, when you cannot fall asleep because your reality is finally better than your dreams - Dr Seuss |

But yes, it is rather sexist not to show both naked. You know you are in love, when you cannot fall asleep because your reality is finally better than your dreams - Dr Seuss |

As much as I loved Oberyn's character, we don't want GoT to become a soap opera, do we? I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

It might be sad, but since they do have the author right along with them I'm sure they'll get the gist of the overall story. There's still a ton going on in the 5th book that the 5th season can deal with. Book 6 will be out. Okay, yeah your right at this rate it'll be pushing it close with the 7th season and book and talk of a 8th book isn't helping. |

What about Boulton, since he is already heading towards Winterfell with his men, he could really cement the Lord of the North title? [Edited 6/6/14 22:39pm]You know you are in love, when you cannot fall asleep because your reality is finally better than your dreams - Dr Seuss |

I was at first, technically for me its the only thing going on in the story that makes any sense right now. I think that's where reading the books makes its impact, certain things are written more interesting than can be seen. [Edited 6/7/14 8:17am] |

GOOD POINT!
The reasons I think Stannis and not Bolton:
- Stannis received news of the threat in the North from the Ravens.
- Davos encouraged Stannis over the course of the last season (or more0 to raise an army to protect the North.
- In Bravos, after he talked the Iron Bank into sponsoring Stannis' cause, Davos visits his pirate friend (at a bathhouse) and says, "we're going North."
- Bolton is so occupied with pacifying the Ironborn threat he may not be paying attention to the Wildling threat.

1 mammoth and 2 giants? OK. Not what I was expecting, I guess there's no budget for all of that. Seems they're holding some things for next season, they're going to have to at this rate. Kinda boring, but necessary. |

^ Totally agree. It's the first episode that I do not think I want to see again (I usually watch each a minimum of 2x in order not to miss any important dialogue or foreshadowing)
Sad that next week's epiosde is the last of the season but I am expecting it will be a good one.

Same here, I normally watch the GoT episodes a few more times after it first airs, but I don't have any desire to re-watch this episode for any reason. Again, as much as I love Jon Snow, and as great as it was to see him fighting with and for his "brothers", it was no where near as exciting as the 5 minute fight last week between Oberyn and the Mountain. I watched the "Behind the Episode" vid this morning on HBO.com and they were saying how they were trying to make last night's episode similar to the popular "Blackwater" episode in Season 2. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

S1 E9 -- Baelor (THE defining episode of the series)
S2 E9 -- Blackwater (an epic episode better than most action movies)
S3 E9 -- Rains of Castamere (enough said)
It was a good episode, but nowhere near as great as the E9's that preceded it. I've been told that a major plot point was withheld from last night, and the finale has to feature at least 2 or 3 huge plot points if the show intends to remain on pace with the books.

*****Possible Spoilers******
I guess episode 5, the addition of the Battle at Craster's Keep, was suppose to showcase Jon Snow's leadership skills, which is what caught my interest about the battle at the Wall. On the tv show, the scenery was done very well, the fight scenes were well done also, but it only hinted at Jon taking charge, thinking fast on his feet and basically saving the Wall. It focused on Jon Snow being a skilled fighter and a good person, showing he truly cared for Ygritte, which is okay, for tv. I thought they were going to carry the events to the "cherry" (for lack of a better word), but I see that's being left for next season, but I think it'll lose it potency after so much time.
The true "shock" of the season is the one I thought they'd do on the 9th episode keeping with tradition, but I see that's going to have to be the last episode unless they hold it until next season, which would be very disappointing. Maybe, they'll go for the other shocker, which isn't as fascinating or strong, scary though, it does add another twisted element to the unfolding events. |
