This is up my alley, and it would be nice to have somehting in this vein between the end of Walking Dead's season an the beginning of True Blood's final season. But I'm a bit cynical these days about the dependability of trailers. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

The Walking Dead is so boring I couldn't even finish season two. I heard seasons 5 and 6 of True Blood were atrociously bad so I haven't watched since season 4. |

Hence my cynicism. Both those shows constantly promise what they only kinda deliver.
The Walking Dead's strength would be rotating, occasionally compelling characters. But they remain woefully underdeveloped. Plus, the pace can be sickeningly slow, and the overall universe of the show seems increasingly dead-end. It might also be interesting to see producers spend a bit of money on zombies in somewhat more impressive stages of decay. I mean we are, what, a couple years now into a zombie apocalypse?!?
And True Blood these days? disbelief:
I'd hoped American Horror Story would stand and deliver where TWD and TB leave a lot to be desired, but its most recent season turned into a sickening slick music video.
Be nice if Penny Dreadful could bring halfway intelligent horror back to television. I just won't be holding my breath. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I have enjoyed season 1 and 2 of AHS and the ratings for AHS had peaked this season on episode one. (I haven't seen this season.)
I will add I enjoyed season 5 of True Blood to the extent that it is my second favorite season since season 1. (I haven't seen season 6)
Walking Dead has always had a slow pace issue, season 2 for instance, doesnt start moving till the last 4 episodes. I almost think Walking Dead would have been better as a 2 hour movie than a series. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |
