What is a Christmas spirit?

I never grew up in a Christmas spirit. I don't know what it is, nor if it still exists.
My mom always thought of it as hypocrite. She said it was important to be a good person the whole year, not just during Christmas. And she believed in treating others the same you want to be treated, because you want to be good. Not because you are afraid of judgemental looks of church visitors or because you want to secure yourself a good place in heaven.

So, Christmas was about a beautiful tree, holidays and eating together. Mom also did not belief in presents.

Every year my neighbours organise "Lonely Christmas". It's an evening with food and board games, open to anybody who does not have family or friends to visit. It's always good fun.

Christmas is a special time esp if you have children...... just seeing their eyes light up and the glowing smiles on their little faces makes it so wonderful!!!

I believe people do not have to believe in Christ to experience the Joys of the season of giving....

and it doesn't have to b in the form of expensive gifts.... just a hug and a kiss or a quick note saying Merry Christmas to those u care for is often more than enough.....
