it's freaking cold in mpls. all this talk of ice storm freaked me out so i bought a bunch of firewood and stuff. it's colder than usual here but the weirdest thing is it seems like the roads are worse than i've ever seen them. either the city isn't spreading salt/sand or something else is going on. WAY icy roads this year. |

Yeah Big Ass Headaches I mean they drive 90 MPH everyday here and when they get 2inches of sleet basically they SHUT THE METROPLEX DOWN
They do the same here in Charlotte, shut places down. No snow so far, but amazing today, it was 76 degrees. The temperatures is supposed to drop very soon.
Atlanta does that too...I remember having a good laugh at them shutting down the whole city for a few flakes. I was born in Philly so I know from snow,

It's the same way here in Mississippi. Hell, the South has to shut down when it snows. We never get snow so it would be crazy for the cities to spend money on equipment to move the snow and ice from the streets just for the once in a blue moon times that we get it. Plus, we rarely get it so we sure don't know how to drive in it. They shut the place down and we still have load of accidents from hard headed people that just won't stay home.
.
What's assbackwards though, is people up North have basements and none of us have basements down here. Lord knows we need them down here because we're Tornado Alley down here. Andy is a four letter word. |

:blahblah: Granted it only rains all of 3 minutes (the 3 minutes I HAD to get out of the car), god forbid, anymore we'd go into seizures let alone some snow and ice, so many on cars would be doing cartwheels down the freeway the whole county would have to shutdown. Was watching on the news how many people were stranded at DFW. yik. |

No basements? No wonder we hear about so many people being blown away there...
Our basement is where the furnace and coal bin were. Those are some sturdy old houses up north.

Where in CA has it been 55? In the bay area low's have ranged from the 20's-30's and highs have been in the low to mid 40's. Of course it doesn't compare to everywhere else. It is still mighty chilly tho especially at night. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

In the DC area when snow is predicted, the weather channels act like it's the end of the figgin world. If two flakes fall, they're calling for an all out emergency road hazard. |
