She doesn't look as "robust" as I'd imagine Wonder Woman would look. Even Lynda Carter -- she wasn't a bodybuilder or anything but she was a woman. This young lady looks a little wispy... We shall see.

I've never seen any of her films but I can see her face. The body is too petite for me. She'll have to bulk up real quick so hopefully if she resprises the role, she has grown into it. I mean, lots of people were annoyed with the casting of Christian Bale and Heath Ledger and look how great that turned out.

Now that The Flash is also strongly rumoured to be in this, it looks more like a Justice League film instead of Supes vs Bats.

Gal Gadot is getting her Amazon on.

The 28-year-old Israeli who broke out in "Fast & Furious" has been cast as Wonder Woman in director Zack Synder's "Batman vs. Superman," the sequel to "Man of Steel" that also stars Ben Affleck as Batman.

In a statement, Snyder said, "Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

The 5-foot, 9-inch-tall Gadot started her career as a model, and at age 19 won the title of Miss Israel. Then at 20, she enlisted in the Israel Army, serving a two-year term. After making her acting debut on Israeli TV, she scored her first Hollywood role in 2009's "Fast & Furious." She reprised her role in the fifth and sixth installments.

It's been a turbulent week for Gadot, having lost her "Fast" co-star Paul Walker over the weekend in his tragic car accident. She posted memorials to Walker on her official Twitter and Facebook pages.

Yeah but Christian and Heath could easily fit the role

i'm just geeked to see WW onscreen! you guys burst my bubble. but yeah, WW is NOT an anorexic model type. this is where america's preoccupation with "thinspiration" hinders them. i'm actually hard pressed to think of someone who couwld pull this off physique wise. hell they told Megan Fox SHE was "too fat" for Transformers 3 wtf. WW has been reimagined as a model with gadgets!

I think it would be wonderful if she was Greek/Mediterranean and had an accent that fit. Not a British accent

Growing up, I always heard that Lynda had padding in the hips and top to help round her out, but I don't know if that was true. But I guess she had the legs. And we do live in a digital age.

Wonder Woman has the body of a well-built pornstar or a fitness trainer, like it or not (that's the way they have been drawing her since the late-80s); that means there are many dark-haired pornstars and fitness trainers out there who would look the part; of course it ain't gonna happen, mainly because a)they can't act, b)the backlash by society and media would be unbearable, so...

I'm sayin' this because this chick doesn't look strong, sexy, muscular, fearsome or badass...

They had plenty of Latina actresses to cast as Wonder Woman..J-Lo from the Block, Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria....I'm still hyped and I HOPE the studio gets the rights to use Wonder Woman's theme music from the TV show...When you hear that music you know she's Running her ass off or Jumping over Damn trees.....VERY difficult casting indeed and I'm sure most people would not have approved of ANYBODY....Lucy Lawless would have been awesome but she's Hollywood Old..

even Katy Perry could be a decent Wonder Woman, lol
