Yes...Gina would have been a PERFECT Wonder Woman if this were the 90's and if they decided to go another route...She was great going up against Lucy on Xena Warrior Princess. I wish movie studios would hire her for Action/Sci-Fi flicks. She owns whatever she plays but she's got The Warrior Woman thing nailed down...

There are no fans more exacting than comic book lovers, which Israeli model/actress Gal Gadot has learned since being cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman" movie. [Edited 12/27/13 10:02am]

Well Wonder Woman was Greek(Amazonian)Mediterranean, her whole character and powers are based on the Greek gods. A lot of her adventures and comic issues were based around Greek mythology, dealings with the gods etc . Demeter(strenght) Athena(great wisdom, intelligence, and military prowess) Artemis(enhanced senses) Hestia(fire/magic lasso) Hermes(soeed & flight) Aphrodite(beauty) . I always think that having someone of that ethnicity play the part makes it so much better. I can't stand when a bunch of Brits with British accents play Roman/Italian/Middle Eastern/Greek roles.
. . . Wonder Woman is a warrior princess of the Amazons (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and is known in her homeland as Princess Diana of Themyscira. . During the Silver Age, under writer Robert Kanigher, Wonder Woman's origin was revamped, along with other characters'. The new origin story increased the character's Hellenic and mythological roots: receiving the blessing of each deity in her crib, Diana is destined to become "beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, as strong as Hercules, and as swift as Hermes

Later, Diana meets her "sister" Nubia, who is Hippolyta's daughter fashioned out of dark clay (hence Nubia's dark complexion). Nubia was the Wonder Woman of "The Floating Island", and she challenges Diana to a duel which ends in a draw. Returning to her home, Nubia would have further adventures involving Diana.
