J-Lo no matter what role she plays still sounds like J-Lo

The Studio/Casting Director could have gone a whole lot of places. Greek or Black and maybe Asian. There would have been an uproar of course. I think they chose a Latina as a Tribute to Linda Carter who is also Latina. I would have chosen J-Lo because she has acting-chops, very natural and believable on-screen & she brings MEGA Star Power to every project. So far the current castings bring ZERO star power. Ben Affleck is an A-List actor(GREAT director) but he's a Box-office-Flop. "Man of Steel part 1" was an Excellent movie and the Studio promoted it everywhere like crazy but it flopped. Unfortunately the Studio hired a different Superman for the last 2 reboots and both were unknown actors chosen for their "Looks". Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

man of steel flopped because it was a steaming pile of crap.... terrible movie that relied on over the top effects that were ridiculous

and why does the race of who they cast as wonder woman matter?... i'm honestly confused

Physically she doesn't fit the bill, as everyone else has stated, but she is pretty. I think the casting directors are just looking to see who the male audience will like looking at.

Its kind of the same as they did casting Halle Berry as Storm when she didn't have the physique at all either. Angela Basset would have been a kick ass Storm IMO. But anyway.. we're all going to watch the movie anyway so I'm not going to lose sleep over who they cast as WW.

Storm was an African superhero right?

.

Halle & Angela are always to 'go 2' women of color

.

Find a Nigerian Ethiopian or woman of Ghana -introduce some new actreess or 'established' it could only add to the authenticity of the character.

.

In the case of WW get a Greek/Greek descendant actress (with an accent/speeks the language) or can duplicate an accent(not British)

.

actresses Tonia Sotiropoulou & Lena Kaloutsaki (Λένα Καλουτσάκη) played Bond girls in the more recent James Bond movie

nod

Yes...Gina would have been a PERFECT Wonder Woman if this were the 90's and if they decided to go another route...She was great going up against Lucy on Xena Warrior Princess. I wish movie studios would hire her for Action/Sci-Fi flicks. She owns whatever she plays but she's got The Warrior Woman thing nailed down...

There are no fans more exacting than comic book lovers, which Israeli model/actress Gal Gadot has learned since being cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman" movie.

Her future co-star, Ben Affleck, also received the same harsh lesson when the Internet imploded after he was cast as Batman. He shrugged it off, and now Gadot is doing the same thing.

In her first interview about the role, Gadot told an Israeli entertainment show that she isn't fazed by the fans' concern that her physical appearance doesn't match Wonder Woman's -- particularly the fact that her chest is not as full.

"I represent the Wonder Woman of the new world. Breasts ... anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine," Gadot said on "Good Evening With Gai Pines" (via Batman-News.com).

"By the way, Wonder Woman is Amazonian, and historically accurate Amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I'd really go 'by the book' ... it'd be problematic."

Fans should have no fear that Gadot won't be physically prepared to play the superheroine. She's already starting "a very serious training regimen -- Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian."

She promised, "I'll gain body mass."

There, comic-book nerds, are you happy now?

^No I am not satisfied.

As the old saying goes, 'the proof in the pudding is in the eating'.

Ben Affleck as The Dark Knight.....whoever had that brilliant idea should get life.

Well Wonder Woman was Greek(Amazonian)Mediterranean, her whole character and powers are based on the Greek gods. A lot of her adventures and comic issues were based around Greek mythology, dealings with the gods etc

.

Demeter(strenght) Athena(great wisdom, intelligence, and military prowess) Artemis(enhanced senses) Hestia(fire/magic lasso) Hermes(soeed & flight) Aphrodite(beauty)

.

I always think that having someone of that ethnicity play the part makes it so much better.

I can't stand when a bunch of Brits with British accents play Roman/Italian/Middle Eastern/Greek roles.

.

.

.

Wonder Woman is a warrior princess of the Amazons (based on the Amazons of

Greek mythology) and is known in her homeland as Princess Diana of

Themyscira.

.

During the Silver Age, under writer Robert Kanigher, Wonder Woman's origin

was revamped, along with other characters'. The new origin story increased

the character's Hellenic and mythological roots: receiving the blessing of each

deity in her crib, Diana is destined to become "beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as

Athena, as strong as Hercules, and as swift as Hermes

Later, Diana meets her "sister" Nubia, who is Hippolyta's daughter fashioned

out of dark clay (hence Nubia's dark complexion). Nubia was the Wonder Woman of "The Floating Island", and she challenges

Diana to a duel which ends in a draw. Returning to her home, Nubia would have further adventures involving Diana.
