I fear for the state of humanity in the next 20-30 yrs. I want to stick around to see how it turns out, but there's another side that would like to put blinders on. * Our kids and young adults are so desensitized to life's rules, that most are all headed for self destruction. * we can only pray for them.

Yes, because all those years in the past mankind has been behaving like angels. Nevermind second worldwar, the Middle Ages, slavery and the Roman empire, where millions and millions people died... yes, our time is really the time to fear for the state of humanity.

I think that society is in for a big change at some point-Rome didn't last(rule) forever, neither will "western" society. If we don't find alternatives to the way we run society or at least find new ways of harnessing or creating energy and extended our resources we will be in big trouble. We over fish the oceans, drinking water shortage is an on going issue through out the world including the USA. What happens to countries like Saudi Arabia when they run out of oil? What kind of unrest will be unleashed and spread? The times aren't awful, they are challenging and much different then before. In the past you needed an army to kill and change events-you don't need that anymore. The fact is when resources (like food/water/rawmaterials) are limited and demand out ways supply things change in a big way. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

It just seems to me that people are to concerned with uploading videos and posting them on facebook etc, to stop and think to help out the person in trouble. That's what saddens me that we seem to no longer have empathy for others. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

That was so bizarre and sad at the same time. “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

It's porn star Laurie Vargas and she claims she was just really drunk in the video. Sure.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Even if she is a porn star and was looking for publicity, she looked like she was high on something while masturbating, because she was rolling around in the middle of the street, and other people were trying to cover her up. I could see a stunt like this at spring beak someplace, but even in New York City this kind of stuff would be uncalled for in public.

actually, that was a good time (yes, the Empire, NOT the racist Roman Republic)
but I do agree that G3000's post is basically a hot-headed hyperbole...
as for the video, I'm surprised nobody tried to take advantage of her...

I'm sure that millions of slaves, women, vicitms of infanticide, or slaughtered "barbarians" from neighboring countries would disagree
but I do agree, that it was still better than anything for centuries to come
especially regarding science, truly makes my heart break

On a global scale the human condition has never been better, EVER, so yeah, I'm not really into these kind of desperate pessimistic views of things. I just made a thread about this yesterday. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

take the dust off your books about the Roman EMPIRE (in case you own them)
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I see now. So there was no slavery in the Roman Empire. No infanticide and no aggressive wars against neighbors. thanks for the "history" lesson Nostalgia just ain't what it used to be

As might be imagined, a society which harbored such attitudes did not shrink from taking drastic measures to deal with the unwanted issue of casual liaisons, and the practice of infanticide was widespread and commonplace in the classical world. (See eg. William V. Harris, “Child Exposure in the Roman Empire,” The Journal of Roman Studies, Vol. 84 (1994))

I understand what you're saying, but I think that the reason why it's such a concern more than it has been before is because we are in quicker, wireless communication with each other, whether it be a text, instant message, Facebook comment, or even a cell phone call. Human sympathy didn't extend very far back in historical times, specifically Western civ, because that's what I know about right now. If you were handicapped you were seen as weak and someone to be teased and killed. If you were ill, you were thought to have a demon in you. They didn't know what germs were and having gladiator games and watching people get mauled by lions in the amphitheatre was a form of entertainment.Let's not forget the infamous torture techniques during the Middle Ages, please google in and be enlightened. People complain about simulated violence on TV, it's been around for ages without censorship, because it was just real life. I do agree that television is used to program and desensitize people, but I think that humans have come a really long way as far as how much empathy they have for others. We still have a loooooong way to go though. "I took another bubble bath, with my pants on. All the fighting stopped. Next time I’ll do it sooner.”

I must admit that when she fingers herself in the doggystyle position is HOT

* Sounds like a classy chick.

I'm less concerned wi the chick writhing about naked who looks totally out her tree, than the folk standing around her filming her??? why r they not helping her instead of trying to gawp at her? I see some tried to cover her but I'd b phoning the cops to help this poor lassie rather than getting my camera out!! Poor thing. [Edited 10/29/13 16:20pm]

The woman got herself into her sinful "condition". Obviously, no one should have filmed her however she's responsible for her own downfall. I didn't watch the video but it sounds like someone totally out of her skull. If she was on drugs, writhing in the streets and fingering herself in public, that's demonic. What she needs is deliverance and I highly doubt any of those people standing about filming (etc.) were up to the task. Were they able to call the cops? YES. And, should have. * That "poor thing" got herself into her condition. Let's hold her accountable for her own outrageous behavior. She didn't get that way from being a "good girl." There are some seriously strong demonic forces attached to sexual sin. SERIOUSLY strong & EXTREMELY vile. She got herself into that predicament through her own sin, promiscuity & porn "career". * I know Orgers are going to throw stones at me for bringing up the demonic but I'm just telling it like it is. I've seen sexual demonic activity in action with my own 2 eyes. I've prayed for people with serious sexual issues that wanted help. These things are VERY real and nothing to fool around with. *
