I believe in God, I may add, so atheism is not the issue here. But there are no such things as demons or the Devil: these things in the Bible are METAPHORS. The Devil and the demons are US. There are a SYMBOL of our most pathetic instincts and self degradation, of the evil WE can do to others and ourselves. As long as we'll keep putting away OUR responsibilities for OUR actions on God, angels, the Devil and Demons, we'll keep evading the whole point of that goddamn book!
