One of the best movies Ive seen in a long time. Its not a typical science fiction movie with monsters, aliens(has neither) or what not. Its the dialogue that makes it Sci-fi. TMFO will most definitely get u thinking.
Here's a description of TMFE from IMDB
"An impromptu goodbye party for Professor John Oldman becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he never ages and has walked the earth for 14,000 years."
I love everything from steven soderbergh. His stuff might be a little rough around the edges, maybe feel rushed, but I think that's mainly because of his budgets, but his stuff is always smart. This one is no exception. The ending is a little wonky, but I liked it.
I watched it last night, just because I wanted to be able to hang out with the cool kids.
I liked it a lot, though I perhaps was a touch underwhelmed by some aspects. I'd heard a lot about the movie over the past 1/2 year, & I had some probably unrealistic expectations of what was really a fairly modest, minor story. Still a 4/5.

Rooney Mara!
I've only seen Sex, Lies and Videotape and Out of Sight. Liked the latter and seem to recall liking the former (although I saw that when it came out and that was a long time ago.)

awwww
I have fallen asleep durng some excellent movies, I still liked it a lot but it seemed very long.
All Is Lost (2013) - After a collision with a shipping container at sea, a resourceful sailor finds himself, despite all efforts to the contrary, staring his mortality in the face.
I gave this an extra half-star due to degree of difficulty. It's not easy for an actor to carry a film literally by himself. 1/2
I really want to see this.

saw this over the weekend...........it was interesting but there was no character development and hard to care about this guy who was lost at sea.........the storm scenes were not realistic either - skip this one

Real good movie.
For a couple months i put off watching it because of the title. The actual movie definitely threw me for a loop.
Yeah, the first hunger games movie was better than i expected. I expected a strictly kids movie but i was surprised. I'm looking forward to checking out Catching Fire.

I'm good...and you?
This one was better than the first one imo. As I sat there watching though it seemed as though it's a story of our own society. The rich send our kids off to war to die or be disfigured or otherwise damaged...and we allow it. People are starving while others are so rich they throw food away without batting an eye. We are all distracted from what's really going on by glitz, reality shows, and fear of nonconformity, etc. In a nutshell...it's us.

I'm doing pretty good. A lot better than i was a few months ago.
As far as Catching Fire.
It seems like it expands on certain aspects of the first Hunger Games. What i liked about the first one was it showed that unchecked classism, elitism, decadence and oppression will lead to a sick society. The second one seems to go even deeper into them belief systems.

Have u read any of the Hunger Game books ?
Yep. We see it right now.
And yes...read them all. Kind of wish I hadn't because I knew what was going to happen. But it was still good.

Mud (2012) - Two young boys encounter a fugitive and form a pact to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trail and to reunite him with his true love.
Matthew McConaughey has become quite a respectable actor. 1/2

Robert Redford is a good bet to get a best actor Oscar nomination for this movie.
Black Dynamite (2009) - Black Dynamite is the greatest African-American action star of the 1970s. When his only brother is killed by The Man it's up to him to find justice.
Comedies generally aren't my thing, but I laughed a lot. The soundtrack is excellent. 1/2
Frozen (2013) - Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.
