Reading more about Brooklyn Nine-Nine has made me a lot more interested in it. Braugher's character is gay, which I'm pleased by.

You have GOT to be kidding! falloff I'll definitely be watching.

Nope, it's true. I just read an interview with him where he talked about telling his son about the character, and his son asked if that meant they were going to put him in hot-pink hotpants and he said definitely not. biggrin

Well, David Simon can't produce everything.

SPEAKING OF, HOW COULD I FORGET . . .

Treme . . . a criminally underappreciated show, with complex, layered characters. It doesn't have to take a backseat to anyone, but maybe 37 people outside of New Orleans have watched it. So glad I started watching in S2.

[Edited 8/29/13 17:23pm]

I'm one of the 37. Fell in love with the show. First time I heard of the Indians. I like the different types of music, the chefs and the pure stubbornness of the characters.

Clarke Peters and Wendell Pierce (an NO native) should be honored in SOME way for their work, if for no other reason than they were ignored for their work on The Wire.

Things aren't looking good for Big Chief so this season may be the one that FINALLY earns Peters an Emmy nod.

Hudson, this is great work you've done here. It is so much easier to read it the way you've presented it here than it is on the TWOP site. Must've been a lot of work on your part; thanks for doing it.

I've just used this to make my dvr list. lol

One thing missing is American Horror Story. Really looking forward to that.

Almost Human: I may tune in to look at Ealy, but I have a sinking feeling this show will be awful.

I'm already too sprung over its star to be overly concern, and it's sci-fi too. I'm there front and center every week until whatever comes. biggrin

You know, I never watched The Wire, because I never could get into the Sopranos (don't know what one has to do with the other but that was my thinking) but I have it on order to try it out since I see I'm not as squimish as I use to be. I might like. But Wendell has always had a special place in my heart decades back that's what got me to give Treme a chance, I thought it would depress me but I'm pleasantly surprised it endeared me.

Clarke Peters has been an Emmy-worthy actor for a decade. The show itself has real natives in key roles. Treme is all "about" the city and its people (on and offscreen). It took me about 2.5 seasons before I jumped on board. But I am hoping for a great final season.

The Wire is extremely good. Can't compare with Sopranos. It's zillion times better.

The Wire is one of the best series ever made. Really, really, really good.

Hostages
Premieres: September 23 at 10 PM on CBS
Cast: Toni Collette, Dylan McDermott, Tate Donovan, Sandrine Holt, Rhys Coiro, Billy Brown, Quinn Shephard, Mateus Ward, James Naughton
What the Heck Is It About? Ellen (Collette) is a doctor who is about to perform surgery on the President when her house is invaded and she's told that she has to kill POTUS or her whole family dies.
How Many Episodes Should You Watch? We're giving this one a full season. Not sure where they'd go for a second one, but the pilot has us intrigued.

Had already planned on tuning in to see Toni Collette, but somehow I'd missed earlier that Dylan McDermott is gonna be in this. I'm soooooo watching this show now! smile

Just to make a note. I'm hooked. Finishing season two.

I haven't been doing well keeping up with the new shows. Love you Blair so much but I'm not feeling Ironside, I'll give it another try. Scandal, oh my, I'm confused I better not miss a show. Once Upon a Time, uh, I'm confused, I'm not liking the whole Pan thing. Goodie, Downton Abbey's going to re-air starting Sunday, I'll try. I'm only waiting to November, sigh.

Ironside was acted very well-that should have been given more time and a better time slot.

Blacklist seems to be the biggest break out show of the season.

Hollow is doing well too.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
