I'm a huge Stephen King fan. I liked the book, but it was not one of my favourite SK stories. I'm taping the show, so I'll start to watch after I have 2-3 shows taped.

His books are always better than the movie versions.

Right Phil!?! That was crazy!

*

Jedi, "Under the Dome" is a tv show on CBS that is based on Stephen King's book of the same name. A town is enclosed in a dome that is like an electronic fence. No one can get in. No one can get out. It premiered last night and it was a strong opener.

I googled it.

Sounds interesting! Makes me want to read the book.

I read the book...liked the pilot! I especially like the redhead... since they chopped her role in Twilight and gave it to Ron Howard's daughter mad and she was so much better than Bryce...

Dang! I missed it. I meant to watch, but I forgot it was premiering this week. I hope it's on "On Demand." I haven't read the book, but perhaps I will after I watch the pilot.

Maybe so, but I have books that I still haven't read. I refuse to buy anymore until I've finished those. I usually buy my books from Amazon for pennies if it's an older paperback.

This "medium series" is much different than the book. Not just little plot omissions here and there. Big change. ..first one being the dead obody in the very first scene....schumways husband....second, the girl in the bunker. Any other big changes any readers can point out without spoiling. No cop with a oxy addiction...no big fundamental changes...bjt enuff to keep a prior reader interested.

Agreed, it's a LOT different. I don't necessarily mind "different" (that's a tendency when putting King books to film) but what irks me is the lame acting. The effects are really good for a TV movie but the screenplay is poo. In my opinion. smile I could only watch the first two episodes and between the dramatic straying from the book and the dreck that replaced it, I decided to nix watching the rest of it. The book is good, though.
