It was a good movie. I am old enough to remember her as a model while I was young and admiring models. She really did have an energy that was quite different from the major girls at the time (Kim Alexis and Carol Alt were getting all the covers). All the girls at that time look like they could be related to Christy Brinkley. It was a weird time because the earlier batch of major models, Patti Hansen and Rene Russo were a little less apple pie.

The movie was based on a book and it pretty much was true to it. I think in the book Gia had more relationships with both men and women. She was truly a wild child and that showed in her pictures. Believe it or not, Cindy was the first model to do Vogue covers consistently in America that had brown eyes in a long time. (Andy McDowell did a few covers but mostly layout work; Janice Dickenson only did layouts for Vogue).
