I just caught up on a lot of films in one shot cause I am on vacation. My biggest disappointment was Skyfall from last summer which I finally saw. After all of the praise and brouhaha and people raving about how good this James Bond movie was, I was so let down. It was one of the worst films I have ever seen. The finale was just idiotic.

Septien (2011) Quirky, raw, often disturbing movie. Perhaps the most unsettling opening credits I have ever seen. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

The Hobbit-An Unexpected Journey 3.5/5 Revisited, since I never got back to it while it was at the theater. It was better this time around since I could ignore the gross troll and goblin stuff that upset my stomach very badly while watching it on a gigantic screen, and wasn't comparing how they cgi'd everyone who aged over the last 10 years, having it scaled down I could pay more attention to the storyline. I wasn't emotionally overcome the same way I got watching Fellowship, but I still felt involved and connected to the characters.

The Lone Ranger. 3.8/5 I thought it was a lot of fun. Yeah Johnny brought Sparrow but I enjoyed him a thousand times better than the last Pirate movie. I think the movie upsets some peoples' sensibilities but it didn't upset mine one bit. World War Z 3.5/5. Whoa! These are a different kind of zombie, I liked it was suspenseful without being gross.

The movie is what I thought it would be, mindless entertainment and it was fun. I think a sequel would be better. We will probably get more jokes. Just think PiratesOTC movie set in the Wild Wild West.

Johnny just looked to me like he was having fun which made it more enjoyable, even with him playing a NA which I thought was going to a major problem, didn't seem so bad.

Sideways. 4/5. It's about a love (tasting a lot)/hate (drinking too much) relationship with wine.

Carmen and Geoffrey (2010)
A documentary on the marriage and careers of legendary dancer Carmen De Lavallade and renaissance man Geoffrey Holder. They performed with legends Alvin Ailey and Josephine Baker, among others, and are still going strong. I simply didn't realize the breadth of Holder's talents, and this doc brings his full story to the forefront. I was glad to learn about De Lavallade's career, a stunning and talented 70something, and her colleagues as well.
