MAN OF STEEL - final trailer - BEYOND EPIC. [Spoiler Warning]

This really is going to be a huge film, at least, in the art of cinema. I'm beside myself and I can't wait to see it. The DC Cinematic Universe starts here. [Edited 6/6/13 19:54pm]

Henry looks like he'll make a great Superman or Man of Steel or whatever. But this looks like another loud, over the top, CGI clutter. After a while all these movies look the same way: the villains, the aliens, the spaceships, the explosions, the fake city landscapes.

It seems like every year I get less and less excited about summer blockbusters, or actually, movies in general. I saw the indy pic "The East" last weekend and it was so predictable it was depressing.

well, it looks decent, and i like the cast.

but i have always found superman kind of boring. the marvel universe in general does much more for me. outside of batman and wonder woman, i have never really cared about DC

Nice. I really can't wait for this one. I'm not sure how I feel about Jor-El still being alive, though.

Superman: The Movie is the genesis of all modern comic movies and remains one of the best (IMO still the best). Superman remains my favorite hero of all time.

Superman II was a great sequel. Supes III-IV were just . . . awful, and Superman Returns really was a wasted opportunity.

But those flicks all suffered from one of 3 problems:

1. There was no evenly-matched villain (except supernatural disasters) (original)

2. The special effects were awful/had a short shelf life (II-IV), and/or

3. The movie was just badly made or boring (III, IV, S/Returns)

Based on the trailers, Man of Steel has a great cast, great special effects, and will be action-packed. I can't wait!

Not a fan of the character or the director, but I do like the looks of this. Can't wait to see Michael Shannon in that role.

I'm a little freaked out to see Diane Lane, who's alwasy been an object of desire for me, playing Ma Kent.

I think the Council gave honorary citizenship to Lando Calrissian.

A new crush! excited But why does Superman make faces? Shouldn't he just move mountains and stuff without raising his pulse? His face makes him seem weak. But, okay, whatever. Anyways. A new crush!

I cannot wait to see how this "new Superman" story unfolds. I've had enough of the "Marvel Mania" of the past few years. Give me Superman and Batman...dont need shit else!

I love Superman but this guy seems too hard in the face to be Superman. Superman is cool, Superman can crack a smile. Christopher Reeve was a perfect Superman.

I'll need to see more of this guy, or see him as Clark Kent to see if he's a better Superman than what I've seen on the trailers.

I think Henry Cavill will prove to be the perfect Supes. He looks a bit stiff but when the reviews are released on Monday I think it'll spur on even the die-hardest of Marvel fans to go see it.

Now I'm not one to really use the word "Epic", but I think that word applies HEAVILY to that trailer. When I first found out that Nolan and Snyder were both working on the movie, I knew we would get crazy ass battles and effects, with a good story, or vise versa. And I'm all for any director that can make Supers look like a bad ass hero with powers, rather than a boy scout.

Just saw it again and it's definitely better a 2nd time.

Dare I say I like it better than The Dark Knight Rises...I do.

It's a solid movie, a la Batman Begins. It is better than TDKR. Some of the criticism of the final act is legit, definitely.

But Superman on film just can't win. If a Superman flick sticks to the traditional model (Superman Returns), then he's not a "relatable" hero. If, like this film, Kal El takes a darker, subdued tone, then he gets slammed for not being true to the model.

I think the 2d movie could be even better. Man of Steel has done enough to earn a sequel and it's probably going to be the best comic-book flick of the year.

Superman Returns wasn't the traditional model. Do you mean it's traditional just because it was trying to be a sequel to the first two Christopher Reeve movies?
