The great films: Training Day, yea or nay. Denzel, in his greatest performance ever, playing a real bad guy. The morality is all over the place, the thoughts about power and race and the drug war are seering. The movie is an homage to great blackspoitation classics like Shaft. Really a well made film, lovingly directed by Antwan Fuqua.
I wish Spike Lee had it in him to make films this good. Big yea. All you others say Hell Yea!!

I've seen this movie several times. I love it!
Denzel's acting is pure genius. He plays the part so well. It's definitely not a "warm/fuzzy" film, but D's performance is brilliant. I was so glad he won the Oscar for this.
Spike is done! He doesn't have the balls or the sense to make a decent movie now. He just gets jealous when other do. [Edited 6/7/13 9:50am]

Great? Not really...........it wasn't realistic from the stand point that Denzel would NOT have risked has business 2 an unknown quantity in the rookie cop. That was just plain silly. Having said that, I loved the film and have watched it several times.
