Org love connections? I was talking to a childhood friend of mine on Facebook yesterday about how hard it is for me to meet women, since I don't go out much. I'm in a wheelchair with Cerebral Palsy, and I'm extremely self-conscious about it, which is why I'm hesitant to "put myself out there" socially.
My friend sees all of my Prince-related Facebook posts, so she knows how huge a fan I am. To my surprise and amusement, she asked me, "Have you ever thought of going on a Prince message board to find a lady?" Thinking of the Org right away, my reaction was I told her, "I am a member of a Prince fan site, but I really don't think I can just go on there and ASK for a date without people making fun of me." "Why not?" she asked. She's obviously not familiar with prince.org, I thought.
Anyway, our conversation got me thinking: In the history of the Org, there's bound to have been a few love connections made, right? I seem to remember someone telling me they met and fell in love with their spouse here. I myself even met and fell in love with an orger back in 2007 (It didn't work out romantically, but we're still very close friends.) Does anyone have any stories about dating (or even marrying) a fellow orger? You don't have to name names if you don't want to; I'm just curious to see how frequently or rarely it has happened. In my time at the org (since 2003) I've seen at least 3 couples marry, have babies, countless other hookups etc.
This sure is the place for luuuuurv! I'm the mistake you wanna make

There've definitely been some love connections here over the years. Some have panned out into marriages and families. Others have crashed and burned. Either way, perhaps there is possibility here for you, bluefish.
On a side note, I just have to say I've not encountered your posts before. Reading them, you come off as very genuine and down to earth. It's refreshing. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

if you are looking for a lady you won't find one on the org. this is like the last bar that anyone would ever walk into, at about 2.30am after most people have went home and only the alcoholics are left. the ones with one eye and no teeth and look like they've slept in a dumpster
it that is you, then welcome 2 the org dating

See, that's a bit of a problem for me, since ideally, I would like my girlfriend/wife to be a Prince fan. I know that everyone here had to have been a fan at some point (otherwise, why join this site at all)? But I also know that some of the people who post in GD are former fans who have only stuck around just for GD and the friendships they have made.
While I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a sychophant, I will own up to being a borderline "fam," and one of those people who just doesn't "get" why a person who is no longer into Prince would still hang out on a site called prince.org! As if their friendships still depend on this site...hello??? E-mail, snail-mail and phones are always options. I mean, I understand that there are people who, say, dig Prince only from/to a certain time period, but I get annoyed by people who say "If you like Prince's music after the year 19xx, then you're insane/deaf/an ass-kisser," etc. Why not live and let live? At one point, I actually wished for an "ex-fan" forum to be added here, but I realized segregation would only worsen the problem.
The Org does seem to be split into 2 or 3 different "factions" these days, which to me is a little sad. The other day I was combing through a 10-year old P:M&M thread and I ran across several orgers who I had fond memories of. I clicked on their names expecting their profiles to be deleted, but they're still here! They just no longer post in P:M&M, which is why I haven't seen them in 10 years!
Sorry, back on topic... https://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast

but if you dated a prince fan and it got serious and you lived together, would you then go on to buy 2 copies of each release? if not, what happens if you split and then the prince collection needs to be split up?
what happens when he tours, who gets the best tickets? what happens if you only get one ticket to the show?
and what if the woman loves prince more than she loves you?
you are best with someone who tolerates prince and your prince lunacy, who let's you go to gigs and will acompany you and put up with it, instead of screaming "i love you prince" when you are at the concert
btw i thought you had an internet radio thing or something, is that still going? maybe you can find someone from that?
btw have you seen the tv show "legit"?

1) All my copies stay mine, end of story. 2) We'd pool our money for tickets in a "Prince fund." 3) I want a Prince fan...not a Prince stalker. 4) I had a podcast, but the service I used for recording conference calls mysteriously disappeared, and I haven't been able to find an affordable user-friendly alternative yet. 5) I have not seen "Legit;" please tell me about it. https://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast
