Where are all the "I WANT TO KILL MYSELF BECAUSE OF THE COLD" threads?

Normally, it never fails.
EVERY year around April, we're flooded with threads of folks who

are sick of the cold, and I get to snicker and giggle myself silly

for a few weeks.

Where are all those posts? razz

I'm sick of people WITH colds.

Sneezing and coughing without covering their fucking mouths.

real minnesotans don't kill themselves because of the cold, they simply ignore the cold. they pretend the cold does. not. exist.

.

my neighbor across the street was out on her patio the other day, wrapped up against the biting, snow driving wind, she stood in her down coat, knitted hat, thick miles-long muffler and gloves, tending her grill.

.

i watched her for a while, admiring her sheer determination and dedication to the barbecue experience, right through my plastic-wrapped, life-saving patio door which kept me warm. i thought she was the most determiend minnesotan ever, except for that guy in his summer shorts and tee shirt i saw running outside, hurdling snow drifts, ice patches and such.

.

real minnesotans simply embrace an alternate, fantasy world in which the snow is actually sand, on a tropical beach. squint your eyes and stare at a snowdrift for a while, it will turn into a sand dune eventually.

This goes for Wisconsinites, too. The colder it gets, the more we drink. We barely notice. shrug

I admit.

When fauxie came back, I thought that I was finally over you.

That, somehow, I could finally ignore you.

But, in all honesty, you get so worked up and offended

by my posts, that it makes you irresistable to me. love

Calgary's weather is damn near IDENTICAL to Minneapolis.

For Imago's amusement, I will say I did notice my playlists titled "SPRING" and "SNOWMELTER" were actually created in mid-March of those years, so this year actually took an extra month to warm up.

We've "weathered" the worst already giggle

I like the cold. shrug I wish it was colder, longer. Summer pisses me off. Ain't no dang reason for there to be a 30-50 degree temperature variation across the Bay Area. Other than, ya know, the natural ones. lol

There is some evidence (though apparently not 100% for sure credible) that Norse explorers visited Minnesota in the 1300s which would make them the first non-native folks here. The french canadian fur traders were next. In any case, there were a LOT of scandinavian folks who came here. We're totally a bunch of vikings.

Canadian people seem so genuinely nice.

They must be the children of Vikings.

I'm convinced that Scandinavian, Dutch and German people have a tendency to be good people.

Allthough the Germans took that a little bit too far and choose a path that evidently wasn't good. No matter how they convinced themselves that the leader must be right.

I'm not very focused today.

Can't even stay focused on 1 subject in 1 sentence.

(and you all know me to be very focused and a girl of few words lol)

Time to wear your viking suit in June.

And have a viking drink.

So, no barbeque for your neighbour any time soon?
