How you can take greatest advantage of groceries for fuel benefits programs

Make gas benefits a regular part of your savings regimen. Simply grocery shop at stores with service stations and also you can save off every gallon of fuel you buy.

Many kinds of rewards plans

Depending upon the grocery store, the fuel discount will generally require you to buy the gasoline at an affiliated station. You simply have to purchase a certain amount of groceries - generally $100 or more - to be able to qualify for the discount on gas. This will vary, however, so studying your grocery store loyalty program's terms and conditions are advisable if you are not sure.

Exploring the discount

The two plans available for discounted gas at a grocery store are the tiered discount and flat discount. With the flat discount system, people are given a set discount as long as they meet all needs of the program. With the tiered discount, an individual can get a bigger discount on fuel based on the amount of cash they depend on groceries.

Using points for discount rates

There are points programs accessible too. Generally, a credit card rewards program will accumulate points in the benefits program. The points will be carried for 30 to 60 days. Then, they can be used on gasoline purchases whenever the person wants.

Groceries for fuel - Club store discounts

Costco, BJ's and Sam's Club often have their own gasoline stations, and offer fuel discount rates to members ranging from 5 cents and 15 cents per gallon, a discount that often outdoes standard grocery chain fuel discounts. It is not uncommon, however, that to use such fuel stations then you need to be a member of the warehouse store in question.

Do not do it in multiple visits

Make sure you keep track of when points discount rates expire. The worse is when you have saved up your points all month just to find out they expired right before you went to the shop. Know all the rules and make sure you are following them.

You can save on gasoline by simply visiting the shop once a month and then using all the points on gasoline right away. Search for store specials sales too if you want to save even more. You can get more that way. Always make an effort to earn double rewards points when possible. Do not try to go multiple times to get more points because it will just cost you more in fuel than it is worth.

Make sure you shop where it is most affordable rather than attempting to get fuel discounts. It is more essential to save money on groceries than to save a few cents on fuel much of the time.

I do the Stop & Shop program, where you can earn up to 30¢ off per gallon at Shell stations...

So far, I've only gotten 10¢ off, but every little bit helps. nod
