i liked the facebook page and got access to the first episode before it premiered tonight...

as such, i watched episode 1 like 4 days ago, and have been waiting for ya'll to watch!

well, like as is usually the case, the first couple of episodes kind of are about eliminating cannon fodder.

ivy looked fantastic. that dress was something you would see in fashion mags. and she is BEAUTIFUL!

i actually thought lineysha should have won. that dress was amazing...

...same with alaska.

i actually didnt love roxxxy's dress, and dont know why the judges did. the hips looked really half-baked and sloppy to me. just look like material badly folded and then saftey pinned to the belt.

jinx makes me laugh, and already seems like the season's only comedy queen... which means she doesnt have a shot in hell of winning, but will be fun on the way.

detox was prettier that i would have imagined, since as a boy his face is weird.

as over the top as it was, i liked coco's dress... but her eyes scare the hell out of me. those contacts are creepy

i cant believe monica was safe. that dress was hideous. it wasnt even remotely red carpet, unless you are walking the red carpet for the teen hooker awards.

honey was great waist up, and kind of meh waist down.

vivienne barely stood out, though the dress was good. yes, she's fishy, but fishy real girls tend to bore me.

i hated jade's dress. she got that fantastic material and then overloaded it with crap. it was a train wreck.

alyssa's dress was gorgeous, but she seems like an awful person. i am already ready to see her as this season's phi phi, and i dont say that with any love.

i already cant stand serena. she's annoying as a person, and wow, that may have been one of the worst looks in the history of the show. but she gave good synch.

penny's dress was blah, and the synch was crap. she needs to go.

OK, I'll go put a rundown of the goilllz together now.

While it was good to see Pandora, Delta, Shannel and Dida back on for Season 5, I guess the best way to go about it is to just list the girls and my impressions as of episode 1:

ALASKA- Part of me says that if my partner had gotten on Drag Race AND WON on his first try after I'd repeatedly tried with no luck, I'd pass at going on after him anticipating the crazy scrutiny (not to mention questioning if they put me on [which is totally possible/likely] to see me fail just for "good tv" sakes. The other part of me (as an artist/former performer) knows ambition and wanting something SO fucking crazy bad that you jump at your shot, no matter how it comes your way. So for that alone, I want to root for Alaska (maybe not for the win, but to stay the course for a while). I'm SO glad that after the pathetic dunk pool performance she pulled the runway challenge. Hefty coutoure was filthy flawless.

ALYSSA EDWARDS- This bitter bitch. Her and Coco do take me back to some of the bitches I used to compete/do shows with. Alyssa has a great face for stage/pictures (ONLY when painted). She looks weird (mostly her mouth) the rest of the time. If she's truly there to let the world know that she's "still got it", then' she's gonna have to let some bullshit GO.

COCO MONTRESE- Like Alyssa, she takes me back, but she is clearly the more "likeable" of the two (so far). It's no surprise that the beef between them is that she was the first runner up who took over Alyssa's crown back in 2010. It will be interesting to see what other dirt comes up. She's lovely enough, but needs to chill with the contacts when she's a boy.

DETOX- Divas to the dancefloor, please! Go on you pumped up face MF! Her face as a boy CRIES for makeup to soften the alterations which look so deliciously over-the-top and evil when she's in drag. Yeah, I'm a fan. She rocked that first challenge and I like mouthy no-nonsense folk. She's probably the one to fill that role this season.

HONEY MAHOGANY- When she first walked in in that fuckin blonde Ru-fro my first impression was MAN-MESSSS! She looked so much better during runway (though not yet a fan). I did see a pic of her at the NYC premiere sporting a 20's look and she did look LOVEly. Jury's still out.

IVY WINTERS- Probably the cutest as a boy (Lineysha is a cute boy too) this season. I am not diggin' her drag face or persona so far. Her runway was a mess, even if folk liked her dress. What was that thing Ms. Swan from In Living Color used to say?? She...."ah, look like ah mann".

JADE JOLIE: I'm really not loving her yet. How can I when I haven't even gotten over her voice? She certainly has her moments of serving fish. I'm guessing the big "I've been keeping this a secret" promo they showed is gonna be that she does porn as Tristan Everhard. Big fucking whoop. This is the search for America's Next Drag Superstar not America's Next Great Sunday Bible School Teacher. The criteria to win the show spells out CUNT for Cher's sake!

JINKX MONSOON- I wanna like her because, well shit...she's a fucking theatre-trained narcoleptic. How good is THAT??? But I'm just not feeling her. So far she comes across as more of a mess, in spite of theatre training and such.

MONICA BEVERLY HILZ- This is what Dida Ritz THOUGHT she was serving. Mmmmkay?? Not quite a favorite yet, but could become one. I'm not mad at Ms. Monica.

PENNY TRATION- Well I hated the name so I guess I'm glad she's gone.

ROXXXY ANDREWS- I'm not loving her as a boy yet, but she's giving me LOVEly drag. She was consistently werkin it from the dunk-tank challenge right on through to the runway. And I saw a pic of her look for the premiere and was loving that too. Definitely a fan as of now.

SERENA CHA CHA- You fucking two-toned mess. NO. I wanted to root for her when she mentioned being just out of art school too. On the runway she was like Tammie's distant hispanic cousin. And after all the smack you talked beforehand??? MM..mmm.mmm.

VIVIENNE PINAY- Um, no, you are NOT the fishiest bitch there...NO. I actually didn't feel she served full fillet o' fish once during the first episode.

I don't want to hit her with a hammer, but I'm also not impressed by her yet.

I would've rather seen (non-fishy-I-don't-care-how-many-times-she-says) Pinay go home tonight over Monica. She deflated, but I just cared for her and her style/look better.

It's increasingly amazing to me how I can be so put off by Alyssa's dude face yet she really gives it in drag. She's serving Joan Collins type beauty. And she gets prop for just fuckin owning it and rolling with the punches with the cross-dressing uncle character.

I don't know why it would ever cross your mind to do a boy character on DRAG Race, Alaska.

Still not seeing why everyone seems to find Ivy so pretty. (cute as guy)

detox should have won the challenge for her performance, even if she was just doing the chicken lady from kids in the hall. i didnt love the runway outfit, but... she deserved to win.

... although jinx deserved it just as much. her performance was the only thing that kept her team from being an utter failure, and her runway look (though a trifle cheesy) was great.

roxxxy was a hoot in her performance, but the runway look was the same runway look she gave last week except in pink rather than strands of fake jewels.

i actually like alaska and alyssa doing boy drag for the performance. it was unexpected, and daring. of course, i would have thought the smart way to dodge the unpleasant looks from ru and michelle was to say "it isn't boy drag, i'm doing a tomboy lesbian girl as the host", but props to alaska for sticking with it. i loved her runway look too.

ivy winters... cute as always. boring performance, but she was saddled with being the english straight man to lineysha's unfunny comedy. it wasnt her fault.

i like lineysha a lot, but her time is coming, and probably soon. she has almost zero chance of making it through snatch game without lip-synching for her life.

honey... i am steadily growing a little fonder of her each week.

and here's the cannon fodder that needs to go sooner than them...

jade... boring, and has yet to impress me in any way. plus she is a shit-stirrer.

vivienne... boring and has yet to stand out for me in any way other than being really consistantly boring and mediocre. like i said about her from the first episode: she's fishy, but fishy girls with nothing else to offer bore me. she needs to go. i would be quite pleased if she went next.

alyssa and coco... i am freaking over this bad blood crap. coco was HORRIBLE in the performance. she lip-synched well, but she has to go soon. alyssa was funny in the performance, even though she was saddled with monica who was tragic in the performance... but she's really not that good in general. both of them need to go soon.

monica... i didnt like monica in the beginning, and then gained some love when she came out. but she was cannon fodder in the end. she consistently botched performances, and the only good thing she did in competition terms was last weeks lip-synch. overall, i still like her, but she needed to go.

it was a refreshing breath of air to not have to watch or listen to serena this week. she really was annoying and terrible.

i think detox and alaska are shoe-ins for the top 3, but i am not sure who the third will be.

i could see it being roxxxy, but i could also see it being honey.

jinx and ivy seem like dark horses for the third spot. jinx has the curse of the comedy queen, which comedy girls never make it into the top 3. ivy is good, but doesnt seem like she's good enough. it could happen though.
