now mind you, I'm a Boss, so I can set my own hours, but I still have to work... I do get to see more of my kids though because I get to drop'em and get'em from dance camp...

Here in Australia, the majority of things close for Good Friday, then Saturday is a normal day, Easter Sunday is. Public holiday, but some retail/tourist businesses can open, Monday is also a public holiday and again retail/tourist businesses can choose whether to open or not, then it is back to normal on Tuesday. So for me, it is a four day weekend, since my work doesn't open on the Monday or Friday.

My kids are off of school Good Friday and back to school April 8. My husband works for Chrysler and has a paid holiday on Good Friday.

They only thing closed around here (Michigan), is banks close from noon to 3 on Good Friday. All other business are open as usual. All stores are open on Easter Sunday.

I think, in the US the only major holiday where the majority of things are closed is Christmas day.

I would never know it was easter until someone else mentioned it. Something thats just not on my radar like a lot of things.
