Guilt... Are you someone that generally deals with feelings of guilt? How do you deal with these feelings? Do you just keep all inside? Do you lash out at others?
Do you often have feelings of guilt even when you clearly are not at fault at all?

Depends on the situation.
For example, if I feel guilty for lashing out at someone I care about, I very quickly apologize.
In other situations, I just tend to feel like shit.

Yes.
I feel guilt when I do something that is against my own ideals, but I've also felt guilt when I've had strong feelings for someone (I don't feel I'm "entitled" to those feelings or having the person in my mind so often when I can't be sure she even thinks of me too much). I don't know a way to properly deal with such feelings, although I've learned to question them in many cases. I also feel guilty about being lazy and not getting things done, but I suppose that's the "healthier" aspect of it.
In old-fashioned psychological terms, the excessive sentiments of guilt are associated with "obsessional neurosis" (the insistence of thoughts preventing you from achieving your own goals, fulfilling your own sexual fantasies etc.). It's been considered predominantly a "male" symptom.

Do you often have feelings of guilt even when you clearly are not at fault at all? Well, you are from Canada... everyone's a fruit & nut case

I used to much more than I do now.
Any guilt I feel is all related to things that happened long ago. My shrink told me to let it go - that they're probably minor blips on the radar of the people involved (if they remember them at all) and that it serves no purpose to continue to beat myself up over them (and, of course, he was right). I did apologize to a few people I was still in contact with, a few years back.
I used to. See 07:23 - 07:58 :

a few years ago i wasn't concentrating as my mind was else where and i ran over this little sparrow on the road
till this day i still feel so very guilty about it
i just hate myself 4 killing that poor little creature
this is why i do my best not to hurt anyone or anything..... i do not deal with guilt well and i let it affect me
and if i do or say something that hurts the people i love and care about i quickly apologise
sometimes i think i am a weak person because of it but i think feeling weak is an easier thing to deal with that feeling guilty - well for me it is

For the most part guilt free. If I ever feel guilty, I rectify the situation by apologizing. I never try to be mean to others and if some how I end up wronging a person, I will apologize. Then I let it go. Because, I learn from it and move forward. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

generally speaking i try to avoid doing things that will make me feel guilty later on... doing something knowingly and then (kinda) feeling sorry for myself later on isn't where i want to be
if i do fail, i try to own it
there's stuff in my past that i regret... i've tried to learn from it and make amends where possible
guilt is a strange emotion in a way... it's almost a bit pathetic at times

Hell no, I'm not Catholic.
And in general I don't tend to feel much guilt over things. It's just something happened recently that wasn't really my fault but I can't help but feel somewhat responsible and it's really bothering me.

If this is your apology for that whole "Do you have sex with your children?" thing, I accept it.

i don't feel guilty right now but even though i know i shouldn't, i'm tempted to eat something with gluten. pizza. yep. it's my favorite
actually i'm starting to feel guilty, just for thinking about eating the pizza. i know better, i surely do. it won't make me feel good, in the end. but still.... whoa. another tinge of guilt. i haven't even exercised yet and here i am thinking about eating pizza.

What is bothering you, the fact that you feel somewhat responsible for something or the event itself?
And what is bothersome about feeling that you played a role in a chain of events?

All of it. I had a very emotional argument with someone then they got in a car, drove upset and had an accident that almost killed them.

well, that indeed is a turn of events that is regretable. Did anybody get hurt, or did they get out ok?
Unfortunately as it turned out, it's the hindsight that inflicts the guilt. If any of you knew in advance what would have happened, everybody involved probably made different choices. So, don't be to hard on yourself.
It's unwise to drive when upset, but sometimes, I guess, in the heat of the moment that happens.
Did you all manage to talk about the issue that evoked the emotional argument in a more calm and rational manner?

They were hurt and spent some time in the hospital but they will be ok.
It's hard not to feel somewhat responsible but I do know that it's not really my fault at all.

I ate Naans. Really loved it. Took the consequences as a real woman.
Sometimes, it's good to sin, just to indulge yourself. The rest of the time you'r a good girl.
You even got yourself a bike! So, don't waste your beautiful life with spoiling the lush moment of pizza dreams!
btw, there are gluten free pizza basics. So, you still can make yourself a lush pizza, without the gluten drama.
