Just another advantage to being married and monogamous. I do NOT have to worry about this!
But the rest of y'all - BE SAFE.

Surely saved me a lot of trouble. No baby mamas, nobody to tell me they've got this disease and didn't tell me beforehand, etc.

If only kids and young adults were taught about safe sex instead of simply being told not to do it at all this crap might not be happening

HPV and Herpes can't always be prevented even when practicing safer sex. According to this article HPV is the most common STD in the U.S. “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

Good for you Timmy. “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

How long have you been celibate if you don't mind me asking? It's been about 4 years for me. “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

It does lower the chances. Safe sex can't prevent anything 100% but it does help

Lets just say i got you beat by YEARS. I wont give the the exact number until we get a contest(or comparison)going on the org though.
The funny thing is i miss being 'in love' with someone but don't really miss the sex. Sex is one of the easiest things to get. If a person can't get it with looks they can get it with personality. If they can't get it with personality then they can most definitely get it with money.
Personally i like the no drama, no kids, no relationship problems aspect of being single(or celibate). Its weird though. I didn't start out by saying i was going to abstain from sex for x amount of years. Its like time just flew by. I woke up one day and was like damn, i haven't had sex in that long ? I was in my 30's when i became celibate and now that I'm in my 40's I'm starting to feel like I'm ready to get emotionally and sexually involved again. I'm willing to not be as selfish and self centered as i used to be.
Also by being celibate i don't have to worry about getting Herpies or The Clap or Genital Warts ect.
Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

I know a lot of married people who are not monogamous in any way, shape or form. I work with a bunch of them. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

I'm really starting to believe (even more than I used to) that most people simply are not monogamous. It's a choice that many just can not seem to stick by. But it is awesome that at least some can stick to that choice and more importantly are truly happy with that choice.
I recently watched an interesting doc called "Why Men Cheat". It just confirmed what I thought about monogamy all along, so I'm not surprised that STIs (unfortunately) are as rampant as they are.

I believe men are only monogomous by his options or opportunities.
I really believe that men are inclined to cheat. Some of my closest friends (straight), who are genuinely nice people, have cheated on their wives. All it took was the right mood, the right night out with the guys, etc. It really seems to be built into men.
And so many women think their guys are faithful--like they rae the 'one' who isn't being cheated on. This might be true, but more times than not, I think they've got blinders on.
I think alot of women cheat on their lovers too. Just not as many.

I can't blame men for wanting to basically screw everything in sight because it's biologically what is ingrained in them. Those urges are completely natural - whether we want to admit it or not.
Marriage was not traditionally about monogamy (when it came to the man) or even love. It was a property transaction and men married to ensure that their offspring were theirs and to eliminate competition. Their extramarital affairs were not only standard practice, they were actually not considered inappropriate by anyone.
It's only in very recent years that monogamy for both partners became the "ideal". So basically in order for it become an equal union, we decided to not allow women to have the same freedom that men traditionally have had, we decided put the same limitations on men that women had since pretty much day one.
It's a really nice idea...on paper, however, not very practical.

It really amazes me all of the conversations I've had with straight men over the years who were either married or in "committed" relationships. They just go on-and-on, bragging about some chick they banged last night who they met at a club/online or one who's sitting just a few desks away or some stripper/prostitute they were with over the weekend. I feel for their women because I know most of them are living in La-La land, thinking he would NEVER cheat on her.
Finding a 100% monogamous man is like trying to find a needle in a haystack! If you are lucky enough to find one, you better hold on to that sucker tight! They truly are the exception more than the rule. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Women have their "binders" on because they have been conditioned to be that way for centuries.
Men in the past had the permission from society to be unfaithful and women turned a blind eye to it. That was the trade off for being protected and provided for.
These days, women are told that the true measure of a man is his loyalty and faithfulness to her and her only. How many woman are willing to admit (even to themselves) that their man isn't able to live up to this new standard?
Most men that cheat on their wives will tell you that the sex they had with others did not take away in any way the love they had and have for their wives.
And I believe them.
It's the lie to the one they love that is the real problem with cheating, but at the same time the expectation that leads to that lie is really unrealistic.
I wish it wasn't this way, because even I love the idea of monogamy and hope that this is what I have in my relationship forever...but I'm certainly not naive about it all.

If a man does not have a satisfying sex life with his wife/girlfriend/mistress etc He will go elsewhere. In some cases fuck a dude. When downlow action occurs, the woman is at risk for catching deady HIV virus. 2014-Year of the Parties

A woman can be exposed to HIV when her man is having unprotected sex with anyone, male or female. Especially if that female is a stripper or prostitute. Those girls will have sex with ANYONE. Their only standard is that your money is green. If I were a woman, I'd be more concerned about my man having sex with a prostitute than with another man. It happens far more often than people are willing to admit. Strippers and prostitutes stay in business for a reason. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Women are exposed to HIV if they have unprotected anal sex with high risk groups.(bisexual men and IV drug users)Men can't get HIV sexually from females, regardless if it's a hooker, drug addict, nympho etc.The virus ain't gonna spread from woman's vaginal fluid through your dick hole (urethra)and into the bloodstream. It's scientifically impossible. If I was a woman,I be more concerned if my man is sleeping with other men than bunch of female prostitutes. [Edited 2/18/13 16:57pm] 2014-Year of the Parties

When it comes to HIV.It's safer for a male to sleep with 100 different random female prostitutes than it is to be in a monogamous relationship with a single woman.
Figure that out

Women have been raised and taught to be princesses since they were little girls. That a man will take of them, but most men are dogs.A man could cheat on a woman and doesn't mean he doesn't love her.Sometimes a man could just get sex that easily and still had great sex life with his girlfriend/wife.
I know several guys who are married, engaged and they always tell me that they get more on the side.I seen it personally too,but they still love their girlfriends and wives. When a man sees a hooker,he's not paying just for the sex,but for her to leave. It's just sex.Sometimes it's like that with random casual pickup. People need to seperate sex and love. 2014-Year of the Parties

Any man willing to test/prove that theory is a complete moron.
I know we got off focus by honing in on HIV but lets not forget about the whole array of STD's that were listed in the original post, which can be transferred from female to male thru vaginal sex. Because I've never had one, I'm not well-versed in STD's. I just know how to avoid them. And that's all I really desire to know. The information I have learned over the years I've learned from my straight male friends, who have carried or are currently carriers of various viruses. One was bragging to me a few weeks ago about how he used to keep an STD when he was younger. He was really quite proud of it. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

I asked a married friend of mine who has sex with prostitutes why on earth would he pay $300 or $400 to be with a prostitute when there are women who are willing to do the same thing for free??? He said because there is no committment. There are no emotional feelings. Prostitutes don't call you. You call them. While I personally cant relate to that line of thinking, I understood what he was saying. but at the same time, I felt so bad for him because, IMO, if you reduce yourself to having sex with prostitutes, there is a lot lacking in your life and your spirit. Not to mention the enormous risks you are taking with your health. [Edited 2/18/13 16:26pm] "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
