No real surprises but I am disappointed that Ben Affleck wasn't nominated for best director for Argo and that Leonardo DiCaprio wasn't nominated in his role in Django.

If Daniel Day-Lewis doesn't win for Lincoln... pissed

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I think it's a foregone conclusion. lol

Nothing really makes me want to watch this telecast like I did last year though.

The boys went to see it this past weekend but I was still in my PJs when they messaged me to go. Oops.

It was on my list, but I figured I'd catch it on netflix. Guess I'll get out to see it now.

I've only seen Life of Pi and Les Mis and I think the nominations are worthy. I hope to catch Silver Linins Playbook, Django, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty over the next couple of weeks. And I'll see if somewhere brings back Argo. I meant to see it and was in the midst of a really busy period when it was out.

Oscar season has me excited this year. The last few years have been pretty "meh" to me, but movies are getting me out of the house more than ever lately.

Daniel likely will win but if I know how the Academy is, they always stir up the boat...lol

Nice they add more songs to the Best Original Song category. It's likely all the artists nominated will perform their songs. I'll stay tuned for Adele's. I've developed a crush on her. mushy

Like Timmy said, Daniel Day will probably get it....but damn if Denzel tore it up in "Flight"...his character portrayal was really impressive.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Not impressed with most of 2012

Nor, the movies they left off the nominations.

Example:

Peter's heartbreaking revelation scene ALONE is enough to nominate this largely ignored movie.

Slightly NSFW due to the mature nature of the content:

I loved Life of Pi too. It was a beautiful movie and I loved how there were no big actors in it either.

DDL will win best actor.

I'm rooting for Zero Dark thirty NOT TO WIN best picture. I HATE when they release a movie the last possible second because they think it gives them a better chance to win an oscar because it's fresh in everybodys mind.

Naomi Watts has a high chance of winning this time round.......

Im disapointed that the young actor in Life of Pi wasnt in the running..............He was/is brilliant.

Ang Lee should win for best director..He is amazing...

Life of Pi is a bloody amazing film...very long but I felt like i was in the theatre for only1/2 hour...It was engrossing and philisophical................go see it..................very cleverly done...
