Having said that, it appears the producers are trying to play up the catfights between Mariah Carey and Nicky Minaj. 
This has been one of my favorite shows over the past ten years, and I love Mimi, but if this gets really contrived or boring I may end up bailing on this show.

You can definitely tell that the producers are going for the "Real Housewives" approach this season. We didn't see a contestant until almost 20 minutes into she show. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I think Mariah is fine as hell, still doesn't seem to be much upstairs, but fine.
From jump I have thought the Minaj caricature annoying as hell with a catchy tune or two thrown in to keep her interesting... oddly enough I found her the most human of all the judges.

I think it's the height of irony when a no-talent hack like Nikki Minaj can tell other no-talent hacks they don't have enough talent to make it like she did.

My opinion:
I don't like Nikki. Although she does seem to try to be nice to the contestants when she says no.
Why does it seem like 95% of the time all 4 judges are in agreement? Which would be fine if they were making good choices, but they are letting some bad singers through.
Randy doesn't seem to say hardly anything, but I think that is from editing. The producers are trying to play up the Nikki/Mariah conflict.
The girl from Chicago last night that is the street performer/fire juggler - her teeth indicate meth problems.

I am thoroughly enjoying Minaj... She seems to be the most human of them all, seems to have a pretty decent ear and I love the way she's totally fuckin' with Mimi's whole "thing".
