the second half of "lincoln" ended up being more interesting than the first, but still...
not my fave. i would give it 8/10

wow, i just realized i only have 5 more to go (amour, beasts of the SW, brave, life of pi, and the sessions) and then i have seen all the major category nominees.

dont get me wrong, it is a good movie and one of the best 10 or so of the year, but the first half drags.
of the 9 best pic nominees i think it is my least fave so far. django (though fantasy) deals with the slavery issue in a much more interesting way, and zero dark thirty does political intrigue much more interestingly.
