nod Terribly underrated comic (when she's not going after unsuspecting victims). Joan not inheriting the Tonight Show was an absolute crime.

I absolutely crack up at Joan Rivers! She's hilarious! Don't watch that much TV but I always set the Sky box to record Fashion Police on E! cuz the woman is just priceless. falloff

nod If you go back to Rivers time when she was a guest on the Tonight Show with Jack Parr and early 70's Tonight Show with Carson, the woman was brilliantly funny.

I've heard Joan Rivers side of the story and I've read Mr. Carson's report in the media about what went down with her with "Tonight Show". Even so, if Carson didn't have the pull to get his guy (David Letterman) the gig, I doubt it highly Ms. Rivers would've ever been selected.

I saw Joan live at a club on the Sunset Strip (Carlos & Charlies) back in the 80's, right about the time she was being considered to take over The Tonight Show from Johnny Carson. It was 45 minutes of non-stop laughter! Joan was ripping on EVERYBODY, no one was safe, lol. But at the end of her set, she bought drinks for everyone in the audience who she was cracking on.

I'll never forget how bad my sides were hurting when I left that club from laughing so much. Even when you tried to NOT laugh, she just kept coming with the jokes. She had people literally screaming.

I'll never forget her for that, what a professional.

Joan will be telling jokes until she draws her last breath. I saw a few television specials she did for Bravo or Oxygen about five years ago, and she hadn't changed a bit. She was a riot!
