I think the weather is really messing with my mood

One day I'm manic with so many creative ideas and feel certain about them and all excitable about future plans I may not do, and the next day I crash and feel so depressed to the point where my memory is so bad and I don't concentrate well at all, and feel like screaming and banging and need some kind of physical release though I end up getting hurt from dancing or trying to work out. I end up drinking caffienne to counter the sad moods, which also mess me up with sleep and emotions and find it hard to say no if someone offers coffee or tea. I do write it out in a creative way, but that makes me even more manic as I get more into it, and listening to music helps, but too much of it and certain stuff I love at the wrong time really throws me off if it's too much. Plus I used to spend a lot of money around this time and way too excessively in the past and now it's minimal cause I need to be responsible, so I definitely feel these things more cause there must be a void.

Does anyone have any ideas for how to counter it? Realistic ones? I need to calm down from my current awesome idea which likely won't happen though I'm such a dreamer....

U need to travel down here so that u can feel like the hottie u really r

Cold weather makes me feel low - feeling chirpy when u r frozen is almost impossible
So I recommend a sunny holiday destination -
And if u can't travel paint your room a bright colour like yellow or hot pink that should surely cheer u up or force u Into shopping for sunnies smile

Already tried piss yellow against my own will, and hate the colour I replaced it with

I really miss my pink walls from childhood though it's not in my top 5 favourite colours, maybe top 10

Theanine and vitamin D.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Music has a healing effect. Just do the things that make you happy. Avoid negative thinking and people. Be with positive people.

Seasonal Affective Disorder(a.k.a SAD). Symptons start in the fall and may continue into the winter months. People feel moody and have low energy. I feel like that during the winter.

I'm bipolar and OCD, though I also think having SAD makes sense. I wanted to invest in a vitamin D lamp, but was discouraged from it and was just told to take vitamin D and get natural sunlight for 20 min a day.

Yes it does, but I took it to the extreme to the point where it was interferring with my life, so while it still has that for me, I have found other ways to entertain myself too that brings out my good energy

I googled SAD for some info about it . There are various treatments including light therapy or medications. I would not try those however.

yeah I have read up on them too, and was advised by medical and psych field professionals to stay away from it when I mentioned the bipolar diagnosis

I feel so much fatigue cause I have so much to do at work, but feel manic about other things that I want to do on the side but know I will get criticized for again and be told I'm being crazy/acting manic again and need to sleep. It doesn't help that reading about other successful people with similar traits to me or even novels get soaked up like a sponge in me and I start feeling so inspired to do something. Did I mention I'm getting little sleep again?

And it's not that these people are negative though I don't always like what I have to hear or put up with. I am lucky to have people who give me a reality check, because when I'm around people who kiss my ass for too long, I end up making a fool of myself and though I can't blame them and have to take responsibility for my actions, it leads to me eventually crashing or breaking down or isolating myself for long periods

No wonder people get drunk around this time of year.....

Try to sleep at least 8 hours(every night!). Monitor the foods you eat. Take vitamins, etc. Manage your time for work and for fun or relaxation. Talking to(positive) friends, family also can help lift a person's mood.

Having a pet can help. I have read/heard that people who have pets are generally happier than those who do not have pets.

Perhaps you should move to New Zealand this time of the year. Here's some reasons why

Our Park

My front garden, why its early summer here, its like your June. Its sunny every day and warm (Like 22 or 23c) and its light from 5.30am to 9pm. Just think summer and look at these photos.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yeah I do have a pet, and find that when I watch TV and she joins, I do feel good, especially if she does cute and silly things like pose funny or climb into things smile

If I could have it my way, I would get a place in a warm climate for 6 months and come back home for the rest of the time. Though it's cold where I'm at, it's not as bad as the rest of the country but I never ever got used to it even though I was born and raised here. Not sure about new zealand, maybe in a warm US state or somewhere in asia.

I hate the winter weather! I like the spring and fall.

Are you happy with your work/career? Not being happy with your job/career can affect your mood in a negative way. I like the job I have for now!

Truthfully, I have had major highs and lows in those areas, but have come to realize it has more to do with my perception of the world and not kseeping a good enough balance in other matters of my life, even though the nature of my work can lead to a stressful environment at times though fulfilling too. I've always known this but just have to work harder on myself, and because of my condition, I do recognize that I am going to be stressed out no matter where I work, so I just have to live in the present and make the best of what I can, and learn to not develop a "stuck" attitude and be open to anything that comes along in the future when I'm ready, because doing that is what made me crash years ago so badly and it's only now I'm beginning to heal from it and feel like myself again.
