part of me wonders if hugh hefner might simply be a kindly old dude type. a rich guy who lends a helping hand to gorgeous runaway, broke-as-heck wanna be somebodys. his smile bespeaks tolerance and patience. but, i don't think he regards women as people, really. i could be wrong but i think he is into the female body mostly as an art form, visually pleasing. hopefully, the women themselevs have soemthing besides their looks to offer this guy, but if everyone's happy it's okay with me...

I think you are right. I don't think he is a bad guy, but he does see certain women as not much more than sex objects. I am sure he sees other women (such as his daughter who he worked with closely) in different ways.

It all seems pretty out in the open. He admits he has psychological issues stemming from his childhood & his mother, and compensates with his unusual lifestyle.

Heff hasn't been relevant since the late 70's, when his brand of cool was blown to hell. He's tried to hang on to it all these years... Seems like a very sad person. This is always a weird conversation for me. Because I see all these people passing judgment on the man, but not saying anything about the endless stream of women who are willing to be his girlfriends or wives.

If he can get them, how does that make HIM a bad person?

Whether they are doing it for notoriety, pay (which has been the case for years), an eventual inheritance (and you know dude has an airtight pre-nup and will), or because they genuinely enjoy the guys company, that's on them! What is HE doing wrong?
