Just read somewhere if by some miracle he should survive this, Hector may be permanently paralyzed from the waist down.

The body is weird... it seems that Hector was dead for about three minutes and then "came back". He still could be brain dead though.

Still in critical condition, seems to be going in and out of consciousness. Explains the premature death calls.

Hector Camacho is shot, boxing great expected to survive(USA TODAY) -- Hector "Macho" Camacho, one of boxing's most memorable fighters, both for his skills in the ring and his flamboyance out of the ring, was shot and reported to be in serious condition late Tuesday in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, near San Juan. The Associated Press reported that doctors and his spokesman said Camacho, 50, was expected to survive.
Dr. Ernesto Torres, the hospital director at the trauma center Centro Medico, told reporters that the bullet apparently struck Camacho in the jaw but exited his head and lodged in his right shoulder and fractured two vertebrae. The doctor said the boxer was at risk of paralysis from the shooting.
"Camacho's condition is extremely delicate," he told Telenoticias. "His physical condition will help him but we will see." The newspaper El Nuevo Herald reported that Camacho, a three-time world champion who retired with a record of 79-6-3 with 38 KOs, and an unidentified man who was reported to be in the driver's seat, were shot in their car by assailants. AP reported that the driver had died, citing a police statement.
Camacho had bullet wounds in the neck and face.
According to the newspaper Primera Hora, police captain Reinaldo Santiago of Bayamón said Camacho and the driver were sitting in a Ford Mustang, when a gray bus pulled up and one of its occupants got out of the vehicle and shot the men multiple times. The newspaper quoted homicide agent Jesus Alicea as saying police have one suspect in custody. A motive for the shooting is not yet known.
Camacho last fought in May 2010, losing a unanimous decision to Saul Duran. During a career that spanned 28 years, he defeated such great fighters as Sugar Ray Leonard (5th-round TKO in 1997, Leonard's final comeback attempt). Roberto Duran, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini and he also beat Freddie Roach in 1985. Roach is now a Hall of Fame trainer.
Camacho lost to the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad and Julio Cesar Chavez, the latter in a fight with Chavez during which Camacho suffered a brutal beating, but fought until the end. His representative, Steve Tannenbaum, told the AP that Camacho was considering a comeback at the age of 50.
There are countless stories surrounding Camacho's boxing career. Hall of Fame promoter Don Chargin said he was promoting Camacho's fight against Roach in Sacramento in 1985. Camacho was paid $50,000 for the victory. But he asked Chargin to hold onto the money until he needed it. It was more than a year later, Chargin said, that Camacho finally called and asked for his money. Camacho has also had myriad problems involving drugs and alcohol since he first retired from boxing.
In 2007, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for the burglary of a computer store in Mississippi in 2005. Police also found the drug ecstacy when they arrested him. All but one year of the sentence was eventually suspended and Camacho was given probation. He eventually violated that probation and spent two weeks in jail.
He has had two domestic abuse complaints filed against him by his wife and she filed for divorce several years ago.

Hector Camacho In Critical Condition: Boxer Shot; Doctors Say Condition WorseningSAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Hector "Macho" Camacho was in worsening condition Wednesday after being shot in the face while in a car, with doctors and his family expected to decide whether to remove the former boxing champion from life support.
Doctors had said Camacho was in critical, but stable condition and expected to survive after he was shot Tuesday night in his hometown of Bayamon. But his condition worsened overnight and his heart stopped at one point, said Dr. Ernesto Torres, director of the Centro Medico trauma center in San Juan.
"He's battling minute to minute. This is the most important fight of his life," Torres told The Associated Press outside the hospital in the Puerto Rican capital.
Torres said that two specialists will examine the boxer to determine his level of brain activity. The specialists will then consult with other doctors and Camacho's mother, who was expected to arrive from New York, to discuss whether he should be removed from life support, said Ismael Leandry, a longtime friend and former manager who was also at the hospital.
"We just have to wait to see if `Macho' gets better. It's a hard battle," Leandry told AP. The 50-year-old Camacho was outside a bar in a parked Ford Mustang with a friend when he was shot in the face. The friend, identified as 49-year-old Adrian Mojica Moreno, was killed. Police said two assailants fled in an SUV but no arrests have been made and no motive has been disclosed.
Camacho was rushed to Centro Medico, where doctors initially said he was fortunate in that the bullet passed through his head and lodged in his shoulder. Torres did warn, however, that the boxer, who was trailed by drug and alcohol problems during a career that included some high-profile bouts, could be paralyzed from the shooting.
Steve Tannenbaum, who has also represented Camacho in the past, said he was told by friends at the hospital that the boxer would make it. "This guy is a cat with nine lives. He's been through so much," he said. "If anybody can pull through it will be him."
Camacho has been considered one of the more controversial figures in boxing. The fighter's last title bout came against then-welterweight champion Oscar De La Hoya in 1997, a loss by unanimous decision. He last fought in May 2010, losing to Saul Duran. Tannenbaum said they were looking at a possible bout in 2013.
"We were talking comeback even though he is 50," he said. "I felt he was capable of it." Camacho was born in Bayamon, one of the cities that make up the San Juan metropolitan area He left Puerto Rico as a child and grew up mostly in New York's Harlem neighborhood, one of the reasons he later earned the nickname "the Harlem Heckler."
He went on to win super lightweight, lightweight and junior welterweight world titles in the 1980s. Camacho has fought other high-profile bouts in his career against Felix Trinidad, Julio Cesar Chavez and Sugar Ray Leonard. Camacho knocked out Leonard in 1997, ending what was that former champ's final comeback attempt.
Camacho has a career record of 79-6-3. In recent years, he has divided his time between Puerto Rico and Florida, appearing regularly on Spanish-language television.
Drug, alcohol and other problems have trailed Camacho since the prime of his boxing career. He was sentenced in 2007 to seven years in prison for the burglary of a computer store in Mississippi. While arresting him on the burglary charge in January 2005, police also found the drug ecstasy. A judge eventually suspended all but one year of the sentence and gave Camacho probation. He wound up serving two weeks in jail, though, after violating that probation.
Twice his wife filed domestic abuse complaints against him, and she filed for divorce several years ago.

At least 10 baggies of cocaine were found at the scene where Hector "Macho" Camacho was shot last night ... this according to officials in Puerto Rico. Cops say ... Camacho's friend, who was driving the car, was in possession of 9 baggies of coke ... and a 10th baggie was found inside the vehicle. Cops say the 10th baggie was open when they found it. As we previously reported, Camacho and his friend Adrian Mojica Moreno were hit in a drive-by shooting while sitting inside of a parked car. Moreno died at the scene ... and Camacho -- who was hit multiple times in the face and neck -- was rushed to a nearby hospital where he went into cardiac arrest. Camacho is reportedly brain-dead ... and doctors have said he will need a miracle to survive. Photo courtesy of SplashNewsOnline.com

It's not looking good at all. Doctors have already said he is brain dead and that there's nothing more they can do medically to sustain him. They're waiting for his mother to determine whether to pull him off life support.
It's really horrifying but not necessarily shocking that he went out like this considering how his life went on a downward spiral after his boxing glory days.
