RIP Larry Hagman JR Ewing Larry Hagman, the star of soap opera Dallas, has died at 81.
DALLAS star Larry Hagman has died at the age of 81. Hagman, famed for playing the villainous oil baron JR Ewing, passed away at a Dallas Hospital, according to media reports. His Dallas co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy, who played his wife Sue Ellen and brother Bobby, were at his bedside, The Sun newspaper reports. Among those confirming the death were Linda Gray's agent, Jeffrey Lane, The Dallas Morning News said. Hagman had a liver transplant in 1995 after years of alcoholism. Apparently he had cancer for a long time.

So tragic. It was cancer that shot J.R.
One ironic thing about his life was that he was most famous for playing an evil oil baron, yet in is real life he was one of the first adopters of alternative energy, as he had solar panels installed around his estate.
I wonder how they will write this into the next season of Dallas.
At any rate, RIP to a Hollywood TV legend.
