I didn't buy any tickets, and not just because the odds of winning are literally one in 175 million. I don't do the lottery anymore because I had one of the worst experiences you could possibly have with it.

The lottery where I live had this game which is kinda like a raffle ... they had a maximum of 275,000 tickets to sell ... each ticket sold is assigned a distinct six digit number ... the numbers are issued in sequential order ... when the drawing is held there is one number picked for the grand prize of a million bucks (lump sum instead of being spread over 20 years) ... tickets were selling at the pace of about one every ten seconds when I bought mine ... when the winning numbers were drawn, the million dollar number was the one literally right after mine ... had I bought my ticket ten seconds later, or bought two tickets instead of one, I'd have been a millionaire ... I had never screamed so loud in my entire life ... I saved the ticket and a copy of the winning numbers because people always find it hard to believe what happened ... about the only thing people could say to console me was "not meant to be" ... that ain't much consolation, trust me ... bawl
