When you put yourself last, you will have no joy since you will be too busy running around taking care of others and end up with a short fuse and stessed out from the lack of care you give yourself. You being stressed continuously will eventually cause you to hurt the ones that you love the most since you are run down from neglecting yourself.

Always take some time for you, especially if you are a mother. Most mothers put themselves last and end up sick from not taking care of themselves properly.

You can not help others, if you do not take care of you. So balance is key. heart

And if everybody would take care of themselves responsibily, other would not need to help so much.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

It's a shame the OP didn't elaborate on what they meant by this on a deeper level, because it's actually a very beautiful spiritual concept in Christian teaching.

We actually had a sermon on this very acronym last year, and the real context of what it is meant to convey is selflessness, but in a positive way. In other words, not to be a self-centered, self absorbed jack-ass lol . In the way in which our sermon was presented, it was wasn't intended to say that one should just use themselves up at the expense of everyone else, rather than see God/Jesus first in very situation, consider your fellow man with compassion, empathy, understanding and extend help when you can, and not to exhalt yourself above others as if you are magically superior ; that teaching it has more to do with the battlefield of the mind and our more self-serving nature in the negative sense (or at least the way it was presented to us from my pastor) lol
