That Aries 3rd house is so fucking true, every sentence. Having Mercy in Sag magnifies it.

The most bizarre sentence, howver, is the last one regarding the Capricorn 12th house. I can't recall ever avoiding friction to avoid problems. That's laughable. I burn bridges and cause friction like I breathe. it's true my life revolves around all things family. i've lived at the same address for many years & i guess that what might be unusual is that although my financial status has changed, my address hasn't. i wouldn't say the area is socially run down, but that there is never a dull moment

I'm not trying to be doomsday soothsayer, but I've had this aspect with someone rather recently and it was an absolute fucking disaster. However, I also had it with someone else years ago and it was magnificient.

First, it's not realistic that you can avoid arguments forever. Conflict is a natural part of life and disagreeing is natural. It's unnatural to never learn how to negotiate conflict or learn to leverage it into something positive.

All in all, 3 things matter:

1. The orb or "tightness" of the aspect. Are your planets 1 or 2 degrees square or 6 or 7 degrees? The looser the orb the more manageable. The aqua and I had like 7 & 8 degree orbs for our squares.

My disaster was a 1 degree orb -- so very tight and very strong. Not even the fact that our mercuries trined, suns trined, and a bunch of other stuff trined or were conjunct could save us; that sun-mercury square was the most prominent thing we experienced and destroyed a potentially harmonious bond.

2. Do you two as individuals appreciate conflict in any way?

I personally find conflict stimulating. There's a great saying by astrologer Milton Black that says, (paraphrasing) if a situation is too calm, a Scorpio will create conflict to feel comfortable. LOL. The Aquarius was a notoriously cool and calm person who couldn't be provoked, shocked or surprised by anything -- except me. He loved that I could provoke him and rile and insult him. He found my "stinging" personality all very thrilling and we had lots of fun together. Also, with a Leo 8th house sun (very scorpionic), he would become more exasperated by my positive, gushy emotion than my angry conflict. He loved our conflict. We had tons of squares and oppositions in our chart and it was the most sexually explosive relationship I ever had (and likely will ever have). He himself noted how arguments made us erotic. He once told me that he loved when I cursed him, told him to go hell or he was full of shit or to go fuck himself.

SO PERSONALITY MATTERS. Some people dont' like conflict while others get off on it. Some people are scared of conflict, don't understand it, don't like the energy, don't see anything positive in it, don't know what the fuck it is on an energy level, it makes them ill, etc. This is not wrong, it just is.

3. Do you have the savvy to shift or parlay the conflict into something productive, good or even beautiful?

edit to add: according to page 1, you are a Cancer sun. Based on my exposure to my Cancer mom, other relatives and Cancer men, you Crabs do not like conflict (at all) and find it traumatizing. I guess it depends on the rest of your chart though. My mom married a Cappie BTW.

Beautifulstarr, Dalia is right that different astrologers interpret aspects/configurations differently.

I think you could argue that Saturn in PIsces is more akin to Saturn in the 12th house than Capricorn on the 12 house. Well, you said in... so is the sign intercepted inside the 12th or does it actually rule the 12th house by being on the cusp?

Ultimately, both merge Saturnian and Neptunian principles and essence... so these situations may give off like "vibes" or create some similar outcomes, circumstances, but the effects of a sign on the house is going to be a much milder and different than its corrsponding planet in a sign. The mergers simply work in differently ways and at different strengths.

Saturn in Pisces will act out natural Saturn behavior and goals in a Piscesean way through PIscean activities. (I'm simplifying). However, for Cap on the 12th, the Saturnurian effect will simply not be a strong.... it won't act.....planets ACT, signs on houses INFLUENCE or color. It is a much milder expression, but still significant, of course.

Signs on houses are among the last lines of influence, IMHO... milder than planetary influence, signs of planets, aspects and even the houses themselves. I mean the 12th house will have its influence and to me and then Capricorn will shade that. The sign that a planet is in has such a primary influence that to say it's "the same as" a sign on a house is exaggerative.
