I didn't lose power in my Bronx neighborhood. But the companies I freelance for are in lower Manhattan which is still in the dark. That plus limited subway service means no paycheck this week (except for unemployment). Sucks.

My father and brother live on Long Island - they're still without power.

Have 1/4 tank in the car. The lines for gas at 5:30am were outrageous. I waited for 1/2 hour on one, before finding out that the station was actually dry and people were hoping for a tanker.

nuts

Gonna stay put at work, go home, not drive ANYWHERE this weekend, and pray that the electricity comes back on.

I can get into Manhattan, but no 6 trains below Grand Central at 42nd Street.

I'm watching cops arrest looters on the news. You knew that was going to happen. Give those mfers hard time.

Haven't seen gas lines like this since 1979 - shit. No reports about any fights on these lines - yet.

Cops are stationed at all the open stations around here now. There were fistfights yesterday from people cutting lines.

One person allegedly got stabbed, and in Queens some a**hole cut the line and pulled a gun on the people complaining.

Trains on the west side are running local to 34th Street (A & D for sure - no B or C service). I think the 1 and 2 are also running to 34th. I took the D this morning -- I wasn't sure what to expect because it's usually packed when it's not local but it wasn't crowded. I didn't get a seat, but we weren't sardined in, either.

Yesterday I took the M2 bus down Fifth and some stupid woman decided it was a good idea to bring her newborn in a HUGE SUV stroller that took 3 people to help her break it down on the bus. She was knocking into people and taking up half the aisle with that mess.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

have friends in chelsea though, and still no power below 42nd street.

i send you a hug Soft-glow...and will continually pray for all adversly affected by this storm for expeditious aid and restorations.

New Jersey Residents Can Vote By Email Or Fax, Governor Chris Christie Says

11/03/12 06:17 PM ET EDT AP

TRENTON, N.J. -- New Jersey will allow residents displaced by Superstorm Sandy to vote by email or fax.

Officials announced Saturday that registered voters can vote electronically. A resident must submit a mail-in ballot application by fax or email to the local county clerk.

When the request is received, a ballot will be emailed or faxed back. Ballots must be returned no later than 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno says the effort will help alleviate pressure on polling places Tuesday. New Jersey is using military trucks in place of damaged polling places.

Officials say electronic voting is also an option for emergency workers. The option is already open to New Jersey voters overseas and in the military.
