Anyway, Charlotte, do you want to adopt me instead?

We just got a donation of Aloe water.
Does anybody here drink it?
Should google what it is good for. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

It's supposed to be good for digestive stuff & heartburn. Probably other stuff, too, that I don't know
Not all aloe drinks are alike though. Some are really bitter, some taste like nothing more than water. And beware if it says it's a laxitive. My Legacy

For me it's a healthy mix of the 4 food groups: Pizza, Chinese, Cereal and Burgers.

It had Laxitive printed clearly on the bottle; did not need to drink that!!! Since my diet is about 80% fruit and vegetables, a laxitive would be the last thing I need.

So, I'm eating well now for 2 months and initially expected weight to fall off (when the master started that actually happened to him, straight away ) 4 weeks in I had GAINED 4kg wtf man!!!! So unfair!!! I think despite changing the quality of food, it was more calories than how I previously ate, coupled with some exercise (though probably not enough to blame muscle bulk for the weight increase ) and possibly stupid fluctuating HORMONES. I gained probably 6kg on the pill over a 9 month period and it's taken over 3 months to feel back to normal cyclewise. At my heaviest, a few weeks ago, I was only 4kg shy of my 9 months pregnant weight  BUT I'm encouraged this morning to find I'm only 2kg away from my regular pre-pill weight that I was happy with last December. I wouldn't want to lose more than that though, my boobs will get all empty and sad looking I'm the mistake you wanna make

Wow ZK, I like your committment to eating healthier. I cut out breads and sugars for awhile and it helped me slim down a little. Right now I have gotten off track from eating healthy but am trying to get back on track.
I still haven't figured out what my perfect menu would be but my ideal breakfast would be fruits and maybe some hot cereal or oat bran. Throughout the day I would eat sprouted nuts and nut butters salads, hot quinoa, maybe some steamed veges, buckwheat soba noodles, and lentils. Haven't gotten that far but this is for starters.

Sounds good WGH - but you need MORE veggies than just some your ideal diet is still very heavy on the cereals/grains eg: traditional food pyramid But then it's my opinion that cereals are evil I don't tolerate wheat at all - I make exceptions to pseudo grains like quinoa, seeds like wild rice. I eat black rice because that's out of this world I'm the mistake you wanna make

After I take a nap I think I'll head to Sonic and geta reese's peanut butter cup sonic blast, and maybe add some cheese sticks with it.
But honestly I don't eat out a lot, IF I decide to go this will be my first time going to sonic since the summer time. I was raised on home-cooked meals, so I don't like eating out. But since I'm in college money is tight and the only affordable thing is the dollar menu. Hopefully next semester I can find a part-time job so I can have some extra cash.
My great-grandomother is 96 and still kicking, that's how I wanna be.

Over the years I've got to the point where the idea of eating out wasn't fun any more. I was always getting inexplicably sick after meals I didn't cook myself I'm kind of limited to things like Thai or Japanese that aren't full of dairy :dead: Meals at friends and family can be fraught with danger since people (mother in law) say "you can have this, I only put a little bit of milk in it" I'm treated as if this is a phase I'll tire of soon and I'm not taken particularly seriously. I've had dinners at my inlaws where I've had to resort to eating some nuts I had in my handbag and a banana because despite them being reminded every time, don't seem to understand that dairy and wheat HURT me! I know, I do need more veges and less cereals but I don't know what to replace it with since I'm a vegan/vegetarian. I'm out of ideas.
Recently I was trying to get into the whole sprouted/raw revolution and the breads are made of seeds and nuts only but it's more than I know how to do.

[Edited 11/18/12 20:07pm] Do you have Pinterest? I have a board on there full of ideas, mostly vegetarian/vegan. I soaked up a batch of dried red beans yesterday, tonight's dinner will be those served on a bed of either baby spinach leaves or kale (whichever I can get) and some other raw veggies I have with some leftover black rice - I'll season it with squeezed lemon, salt and some hot sauce. Last night was a stir fry with ginger/garlic marinated tofu. I'm the mistake you wanna make

I was going to do this gradually, but found it suited me better to go cold turkey. I am now at the point where I've become an obsessive bore I get on the computer when I have alone time and google healthy food pictures
I started a pinterest to keep all the salad porn in one place

The nice thing is I'm finding when we eat out, most places will do a salad with roast chicken breast or similar, so I'm not having to feel like a PAIN IN THE ASS and if worst comes to worst ie. food court, I'll get a sushi pack. Here it is - is it public? I'm the mistake you wanna make

I'm back on a mostly raw vegan diet again. (about once or twice a week, I'll break from it).
Raw almond milk is very easy to make. Just get a handful of almonds, place it in a blender with water (or cocanut water if you like the flavor).
Blend it for a few minutes, then strain it.
It tastes far better than soy milk or store bought almond milk.
Also, there's a brand of cocunut yogurt out there now that is just as smooth and creamy as dairy yogurt.
I strongly believe the more alkaline your blood is, the healthier you are. Therefore, high amounts of fresh fruits and veggies is essential. Pills just don't do it.

Best chocolate shake in the world
1. Frozen bananas chopped 2. 1/2 cup of coconut water (or plane water with a teaspoon of maple syrup if you can't find coconut water) 3. raw cocao power 4. teaspoon of vanilla extract (or fresh vanilla)
Blend.... drink right away. It is amazingly creamy and rich.....but raw and alkaline

Somewhat-related question...
...does anyone still take cod liver oil or castor oil?
My mom used to get force-fed castor oil once a month by her grandmother (with a spoonful in one hand and a leather belt in the other ).
I took McCoy's cod liver oil pills as a kid.
My parents used to have to go to Spanish Harlem to buy them.
Nowadays you can get them in any ethnic supermaket that caters to Hispanics, and I actually bought them for my oldest when he got anemic. My local CVS even carries them. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Right on, someone is into an alkaline diet. I did this diet last December and it was great. I lost a few pounds and felt good. Right now I'm not on that diet but maybe I should get back on it because I was following some book and the recipes in it. Need to go find that book at the library.

I'm looking at all the thanksgiving dinner photos I'm seeing on FB and although I realise people's phone pix in incandescent lighting makes for unappetizing photos so it's probably not fair but... :ill: It looks so colourless, and apart from some shriveled up greens I'm not seeing any veggies people!!! :2th: I'm the mistake you wanna make
