My first thought was "haven't we been down this road before".
Anyway, it's prostitution, and she making her lifetime salary in one swoop. I'm not shocked at her offer, but at the idea that there are obviously men who value it that much, that's serious right there. Think of all the women who've given it up for some Mickey Ds.
When I used to spend time in Japan I learned this practice used to be more common in their culture(particularly in the world of the Geisha), until the late 1950's when it was then declared illegal. It's called Mizuage, and the money from the patron used to be used for a kind of coming out ball for an apprentice Geisha, like a debutante, and the rest was set aside for her future. The patron would spend time courting the apprentice, the de-flowering ritual would be scheduled, then there would be her debutante ball into society as a a fully grown "woman" & official Geisha (where sex actually is not part of the job).
From the moment she was set after the deflowering, it's agreed that the patron never has relations with the girl again. In Japan these patrons or sponsors are known as "hymen lovers"...well, for er, um...obvious reasons. Oddly they don't/didn't consider it prostitution, though. For them it was a tradition that was set apart from being serviced by a courtesean or regular street prostitute. I guess this dude who went for the Brasilian girl must be seriously old skool; proll heard some stories from grandpa on how things used to be and wanted to carry on the cultural tradition |

Dude, I think virgins in this day and age, both men and women, are a much more rarer breed than any other time.

Why you think the price tag is so damn high?

Well Joe, I certainly feel like a rare breed. But it's all good.

Oh, I think there is a good argument againt that statement. Just looking back not that long ago women were married off to men at like 13 years old.

I simply don't understand the logic that having sex for the first time is some big or special deal.
You didn't give yourself away, you had sex for the first time. No biggie.
Exactly my point.
It could have been much bigger and memorable if some guy had paid me 780.000$ for it. Would have given me a head start in live.
or, it could have eternally messed up your head with respect to sex. he'll be playing some games with her for sure. we're talking bored dude who has oodles of moeny and probbaly a LOT of experience sexually. it will be about whatever thang he has going on
it won't be the same for her as it could have been with someone she actually had feelings for. also, everyone from now on will hear about/know about her history. it could be used against her.
that being said, kudos to her. that's a lot of dough. it would be a head start in life, materially speaking |

interestingly, a twisted version of this practice is still alive and well in japan's hostess bars. |

Men will go crazy to be the first. Unfortunatley the buyer will be some old crusty looking man because no one her age will be able to afford that.

That's interesting. Sounds like several cultures have rituals regarding the rights of passage into womanhood. I just watched something a few months ago, about a now outlawed practice in India ( I forgot the name). It's not quite similar, since I found it more shocking because it was sprang as a surprise on the young girl, but it's was still a very sacred ritual that's been practiced for centuries. The similarity I guess is, a certain select group of men are selected for the ritual.
Of course it's a far cry for setting it out there for the highest bidder, whoever it may be. |
