I wanted to be a comic book writer.

I am a writer (as well as an editor), but I've never written a comic book. Yet. Maybe I will someday.

Architect. I wanted to be an architect when I was young.

In High School I got into into Design; Graphics, Fashion, Marketing, etc.

I have a BFA in Interior Design....which seemed like a perfect balance between Architecture and the Design world.

I wanted to be a teacher. I actually went to school for it but never completed the degree because I decided it wasn't for me. After going through several years of illness and working retail and in childcare, Im back in school studying to get my degree in Nursing to become an RN. Its hard but I enjoy it and it interests me smile

I can only imagine the pick up lines you are able to come up with being in that line of work.

I never had any particular plans, but as a small boy I always loved to play lawyer in the office of my late grandfather. And that's what I became.

I wanted to be a lawyer and even at the late stage, I am still considering going to law school to become a securities lawyer.

Right now, I am a consultant, financial and operations principal and anti-money laundering specialist.

I wanted to be a photojournalist; I was on my high school and college papers. I kinda didn't read the tea leaves right away, the days of LOOK and LIFE magazines were coming to an end and in all likelihood I would probably end up being a wedding photographer. So, I became a lawyer.

I never really had an idea. At least, not a strong one. I came up with answers to tell people who asked that question (psychiatrist when I was 7 or so, teacher when I was in jr high and when I was in high school I just wanted to work in a record store owner) but I never truly wanted to be any of them.

These days you could call me an IT Project Manager but that's just what I do, it's not who I am.

I guess I still don't really know what I want to do for work. I'm not in my dream job, but it's not so bad either. I still have to figure out what my dream job is.

As for what I want to be? Happy. Healthy. That's about it. And I've got that right now.

Funny you mention dream job.

I want to work for a non-profit helping people. I volunteered a couple of years ago and it was awesome. I was even offered a job after the summer I volunteered but the pay was horrible. There was no way I could sustain my family on what they wanted to pay me. Even when I wanted to be a lawyer, it was because I wanted to help people.

Yeah, that's a tough one. I've been considering looking at non-profit, but losing what I've gained in pay would be pretty difficult right now. Though I may try to plan for it in the future.

I'll answer any question that you'll answer. But if you're going to ask a question that you won't answer yourself, then what does that say about you? What does it say about the universe in general?

An Astronaut. I used to hang my bed covers on the sides of the bunk bed, and pretend it was my shuttle biggrin I ended up working as a deli clerk.

If you're ever in Houston, let me know and maybe I can introduce you to some real astronauts!

Well, when I was really little (5 or 6), I wanted to be a nurse, because I thought they just ran around sticking needles in people all day and that sounded like a damn fine occupation, to me! evillol

But from the time I was 8 (or so), all I ever really wanted to be was an actress. I'm lucky that I get to do it, now. I have to make my living doing something else (paid acting gigs are few and far between, and the pay is never more than a nominal stipend), but I don't care.

I've gotten to do other very interesting things, but mostly by accident. I did TV weather for five years...and worked as a journalist (in radio) for a few more. I worked in politics, too (that was an absolute blast). Eventually, I gave up on all those things, because they were unstable and the hours were horrible.

I'm a marketing writer now - doing catalog and web content. This job was an accident, too - but I'm good at it and I make a decent living. So here I stay. shrug

i like being able to do different things, and i'm not sure i'll ever really settle on just one thing forever. someday though, i'd like to retire and sit on a park bench wearing florals with plaids, tossing food for the pigeons and shaking my cane at upstart kids, scolding them about their haircuts

I used to want to be a veteranarian(sp?) until I found out they put some animals to sleep.. sad

So as I got older I wanted to be a rockstar.. then I just wanted to marry a rockstar..

I never wanted to go to college..

As I left high school all I ever wanted was to be a Mom and a full time homemaker... Baking, cooking, cleaning, doing things for the kids, creating a warm happy home and having fabulous parties.. And thats what i did!! biggrin

Now that the kids are grown and having families of their own I am still a home maker, but also very involved with my grandchildren, which bring me so much joy EVERYDAY! and, We get to have Sunday dinners at my house with both my children, their spouses, and their babies! mushy

Also, I am my own boss.. I work in sales.. On ebay..for over 10 years! lol But hey, I do very well thankyouverymuch!

I have lived all over the country and Germany as well.. Never dull around here!

So I have lived and am living my dream... well all except the rockstar bit hrmph

Yes, its all very June Cleaver and I LOVE it!
